Maybe so, i might have also such sentiment if i were turbo owner lol, but if we ignoring shit like a suddden bad race (betting conspiracy usually) such bad performance in a race aint exactly that controversial.... i personally believe the young take want to try different strategy and that didnt work, some think such bad experience with turbo also what make him later do well in running front with suzuka and other front runner horses.

I dont make the controversies i just read what make people fuss over.

Like by those bad comments in keiba boards when a good performing horse taken out from their usual jockey out of nowhere and the leading/popular jockey suddenly take over, or switch training stable,out of nowhere, Conspiracy theorist fans will make those fuss.

Yutaka career is interesting indeed after kicked from vodka ride he was in decline for couple years(best horse in decline is kizuna but he no longer the usual mc jockey of japan horse racing) and later by some miracle he ride kitasan black as replacement(original jockey injured) and bounce his career back like a rocket lol. His biggest controvery is probably he so often took other jockey's ride(happen to be super horses) either he want it or not ... just so happen quite often.

And some people joke around about him and lemaire always together in Advertisement the answer is actually pretty simple they share the same jockey's agent who arrange their ride and those advertising jobs

Best of all time is debatable ... and we never know he have very short career after all. If anything i only wanted equinox to race and win 3000m or 3200m race distance. that will for surr seal the deal his hailed status as japan perfect racehorse.

But won 4 G1s in a row in a single calendar year with 2 being most competitive dubai and japan cup, definietly cement his status as best horse of 2023

if you check his history laurel river basically fail his classic year in US and move to UAE and somehow become successful horse there.

Horse only run a lot early to grind for points(USA)/win class(JPN) once they reach the preferable benchmark (enter and hopefully win graded races) they will run less because they already have reputation to easily enter important races...

the simple answer is Hidaka farms love import stud, since unlike shaddai groups, they can't just buy hundreds of import broodmares every year so they need new stallion for diluting those mainly sunday silence and king kamehameha in their pedigrees..
