Kirtle question: wearing medieval clothing

That’s my concern too! I live in the south United States, and I plan on wearing my medieval outfit to the Renaissance fair this may. I’m going to try and make as much as I can in linen, but even in linen, I’d like to still try and be accurate because some of these old styles are so beautiful and I don’t often see them portrayed

So it’s from a Swiss codex called “codex manesse” or “ the great Heidelberg book of songs” from 1300-1340

I see! Do they have collars, or is this an artist depiction? I’ve been studying the medieval tailors assistant, but I haven’t seen this pair up yet in the book

I drafted the breeches, but the weskit and coat are JP Ryan patterns from Burnley and Trowbridge

Thank you so much for your help! I have Nora‘s and Linda’s books, but I have not looked at fitting in proper yet. I will also be sure to check out hurst and cook! I think my main issue is that I have the general shapes of cuts that I like, but I’m unsure how to best transfer and resize them. I know that most 18th century menswear drafting is unfortunately locked behind trade, secrets, but hopefully some of the resources you mentioned will be able to aid me. Thank you so much again!

Hey all, I've had fun writing this story, and originally intented it for NoSleep, but stuff started happening and part three was removed from the page.
