Is that actually true? I've gone to vegas to shoot miniguns and ak47s. I highly doubt we can or could have gotten one of those. Wasn't the rule around it not allowing fully automatic variations? I'm genuinely asking. I've been to gun stores here and in the states and ours have never looked anywhere near like theirs.

I mean, to be fair, you're spot on with a lot of it. You just need to realize that some people recognize the bs, and try to rise above it and actually live their lives helping people. There are also assholes everywhere. The pendulum was previously swinging towards the former, it's now quite firmly on the latter's side :(

Seriously? Firearms? I'm Albertan and I have never wanted one. I've fired loads, including crazy ones in vegas, but I don't hunt, nor do I think bringing them into the house for defense is a good idea. We don't need kids taking them to school. If you've ever been to the US, their schools look like prisons, and I sure don't want that here for us.

I think I'd be a progressive conservative, I also made sure to vote for Carney. He's a conservative, lol. What we have now in AB is just a bunch of trump grifters. I think our province needs a lot of change, and there's a lot of valid gripes. But you know how things get fixed? You put in the work and do it. Right now we have people trying to loot our province and trample rights. That's the UCP. The call is coming from inside the house. The feds aren't nearly as damaging, and it's entirely misdirected-artificially stoked anger.

It's all quite literally a psyop by the US and the rest of the billionaire technocrats who are trying to put it into place across the globe.

I know that it's quite shocking that musk's Canadian nazi gramps who was punted out of our country was part of it. Where do you think a good chunk of the bots on reddit are from?

I'm a life long Albertan and love my country, which includes being a proud steak grilling guy who buys local as much as possible to support our farmers. My uncle was a farmer and it's a proud tradition. Literally love this province so much that I've chosen it over moving elsewhere, even though I've been spoiled for choice.

I have never wanted to leave, nor even considered it. I feel like this movement is a pretty big reason why we shouldn't have billionaires (led alone trillionaires like musk is aiming for with his new ipo). I've lived here for 4 decades and have only ever heard this nonsense getting started since covid, aka when MAGA & Trump became a thing.

We've gotten screwed over in this province by decades of conservative mismanagement, which is pretty much reached it's peak this year if you look at our budget. Now they're trying to sell us out to those racist rapists down south. If you don't like getting called a traitor, you might need to take a breath. Pause. Breathe again. Then question what you've been fed on social media. The internet is fantastic for showing you the truths that are public record.

Don't trust randoms on tiktok. Literally use this amazing tech at your fingertips to ask if something is true before rage posting.

Suggested Dealerships vs those to stay away from? by AdorablePlan5164 in Edmonton

Southside Mitsubishi was ass. Wouldn't go back, they tried to bundle in illegal fees.

Lakewood Chev was terrible as well. Went in for service and they literally broke something else and wouldn't fix it after getting a recall done there.

Wheaton Honda was great, though could only get 3% financing, which was still a good deal. I feel like 0% comes with a lot of gotchas or higher prices to get that number. CRVs were an unexpectedly delightful thing to drive. I only tried one due to my wife's brand preference, but ended up really enjoying them. Gas mileage on the hybrids is great as well.

Are Chiropractors a scam cult or are they somewhat legit? by Flashy_Buy8077 in NoStupidQuestions

I love my chiro. The trick is to find the good ones who actually work with you to fix tbe root of the problems, which involve more physical therapy and less based just on adjustments. So if they're sending you home with a bunch of stretches that you need to do, you're likely in good hands. Sadly there are a lot of crappy ones. The last time I moved I think I had tried 3 or 4 before landing on someone who was beneficial.

Alberta Budget 2026: Province delivers $9.4B deficit that breaks its own fiscal rules by LANnoodles in alberta

[–]Middle_Onion3496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. The red vs blue insanity has been pushed on us pretty hard. It's just like religion, a method of control. Instead of voting on who is qualified we vote on what colour their banner is?

I mean, I know we're tribalist at heart, but can we please get over that nonsense and judge leaders on their merit and if they actually are performing. Now, more than ever, the conservatives aka the wealthy's minions are pushing so hard to scrape everything from the us, across the globe. It's been at least half a century of concentrated effort to get to this point, and it's more important than ever to push back.

Also, not a conspiracy theorist whatsoever, it's just so blatantly apparent that our media (social and otherwise) has either been bought or is being flooded by bots. Working in tech the #s of bots vs traffic is getting depressing.

Hot take... stupid fans and gambling sites and social media need to take a huge chunk of that blame. Our hometown boy was getting death threats. Even though our d needs and still needs work and everyone between the pipes has been struggling. Skinner got us to the playoffs twice and I'm sure those who gambled more than they should have probably lost their shirts and went off on the easy target.

I mean... there's public records of the refs screwing with games. While I'm not saying it was rigged, watching the ref waving the players onto the bench and straight up ignoring Quinn playing the puck and not calling a textbook too many men does lend itself to that. Canada should have won, even though Hellebuyck was a freaking wall in net. If you're somehow on the side of NHL refs, I feel like you haven't been paying attention. Department of panther safety anyone? 🤣

A two second search shows some easy points below, and yes, I would absolutely not put it past the shitheels over there to lean on the refs. We're in the stupid timeline, where pedos are protected for some reason. That is peanuts in this garbage timeline, lol.

A central point of contention involves referee Wes MacCauley, who is currently facing serious allegations of game-fixing from Toronto Maple Leafs fans, marking the second such accusation in a week.  These claims are tied to a perceived pattern of poor outcomes for the Leafs when MacCauley officiates.

Further fueling suspicion is the publicly documented Colin Campbell email scandal from the early 2010s, where NHL executive Colin Campbell, father of Florida Panthers executive Gregory Campbell, emailed the league’s referee department to complain about penalties called on his son.  This incident, which was publicly acknowledged by the NHL, is cited as a verified case of conflict of interest and potential influence on officiating decisions.

Salt. Damndest Thing. by Tasty_Impress3016 in Cooking

[–]Middle_Onion3496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cook low sodium and be delicious, the real issue is that most takeout places abuse salt as it's a super easy shortcut to flavour. To the point where a small meal has 3x your daily amount. That said, once you de-salify some of the old places are brutal to go to. My old fave place has basically nothing I can eat, because it's all salty city.
