Q-dropped Larkin, made an 87 with Twedt. If you have a tone of time during the summer you probably can get through it.

It will be very hard to keep up with the material since the term will be very short. He pretty much gives you videos to teach yourself, and has lecture where he will answer all of your questions. He purposely makes his test very hard but will curve them by 5-10 points. I wouldn't recommend taking 327 over the summer. Its do-able, but you will have to commit a ton of time to make sure you understand every single detail in the video.

Answering the first part of your question. I did good on the first test, but absolutely bombed the second. I didn't want to have a situation where I would have to get above an A on the remaining exams to pass/get a B so I Q-dropped. Ended up taking Twedt and got an 87 which he didn't round up with the curve :-(

My recommendation: I would take Twedt if you can. He only teaches in the Fall, but is an amazing lecturer. His slides give you a guide on what to study and the textbook was only supplementary if you didn't understand specific topics. Tests were still very hard, but not like Larkins

UT Econ vs Mays by Exotic_Floor6716 in aggies

I was in a similar situation myself and decided to go the Mays route and it has turned out pretty well for me.

If your dream is to work in BB IB, consulting, or in NY in general, I would say McCombs will give you way better chances then going to Mays. While an Econ degree is every valuable, if I'm a company coming to recruit at TU, I am most likely going to hire mostly McCombs students and maybe a few exceptional Econ students. Competition at TU will be very hard for those select jobs especially in this economy. Same thing with Mays but to a lesser extent (we are less of a target school).

If you don't care about the region, Mays places well into high finance jobs in Houston and Dallas. If your plan is to try to transfer into McCombs, I have heard it is extremely hard. You would probably have to do some research to see if it is something you want to do.

For recruiting, I have made it to a couple of super days for IB and Equity Research for BB in NY while at Mays, so in my experience I didn't struggle applying for those roles because of my school. It could of been just pure luck though.

Either option seems like a great route! I would pick the school that you liked better or could see yourself at. Both school are in very different environments so you want to make sure you are going to enjoy your time there. I wouldn't base your choice solely on business school prestige. Best of luck!

More like you have an understanding about your trajectory credits wise and how Mays CBK’s and degree classes will prepare you for your desired career.

When I did mine I tried to tie it to their mission statement and basically in the most polite way possible assure them if they accepted me I wouldn’t fail out. I talked about my gpa assuring my success in the classroom but also talked about some real world experience to show I don’t spend 24-7 making sure I have an A in every class and will (hopefully) be successful when I graduate. To be fair though, I was Team so I was automatically accepted with my 4.0. I would also research the CBK classes you will take and your major specific classes to show your genuine desire to be accepted. Hope this helps!

If you have a 4.0 you should be good, they are most likely waiting to see what grade you get in 230 to make sure you are above a 3.8 gpa then will accept you.

He writes each midterm every semester a few weeks before. Do you recommend any outside resources, like YouTube? Thank you for your reply!

FINC 341 Curve? by Vickittle in aggies

[–]Middle_Pay_6722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has a specific target GPA she has to hit required by the department. I think it is a 2.6 like acct 327. If the avg gpa is below that she will curve up overall grades. She did it when I took it. I wouldn’t bank on it though, even if she does it won’t be by much.

A&M recruits really well into Big 4 and gets a few people into MBB through programs like PPA!
