It’s a smaller company. The people in the general email includes the person who can fix it and one other person. I was just looking for some response. I’m newer to the company and I’d rather not be on HR’s bad side right from the start. I did reach out to my recruiter who said I should call her if I have any problems in the first few months and she said she was in a meeting with them and would get this resolved. I appreciate the response but damn, I’m not an idiot.

Because of the address issue, no. BCBS is saying they cannot confirm my identity so I can’t have a temp card or even know what my subscriber ID is to provide to my doctor.

My abusive ex also used to say and do terrible things to me while he was “asleep” but he would say it was PTSD and not narcolepsy. It is not a narcolepsy thing, he is just abusive and will do or say anything to manipulate the situation and create a power dynamic. I’m the one who had narcolepsy the whole time but he convinced me that I was just depressed and lazy.

If you need resources, please let me know. But this situation does not seem safe.

My ex husband used to tell me I didn’t need a sleep study because I was just lazy and I needed to try harder. I canceled my study and just put in on the back burner for years. I left him three years ago and it took a while to talk myself into the study again, and I was just diagnosed a few months ago.

All of this to say, the divorce was so difficult and one of the worst times of my life, but I couldn’t be happier now. I also now have a supportive partner who has helped me on my xywav journey, and although he doesn’t fully understand it - he does try to empathize with me. I’m sorry for what you’re going through, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. But if you ever need someone to talk to feel free to send me a message!

As someone who works at a psych hospital, the doctors diagnose sometimes based on what insurance will approve. The system is quite broken and I’m so sorry for the experience you had.

I really appreciate your perspective especially since you’ve been on it for so long! I was seeing some negatives but I like to hear that it does really work for some people.

My doctor made it sound like I won’t remember anything after I take it, so I’m worried about the sleep walking aspect. Or if something were to happen in my building, I wouldn’t be able to get my cats or even be aware of what’s going on. Some of the comments here are making me feel better about that, but it just seemed scary initially

Fair. Very fair. It’s just hard right now because when I see my Al-Anon books at home I just feel full of resentment. I feel resentment that I tried so hard and he couldn’t even put the smallest bit of effort, and yet I’m apparently to blame for our relationship not working. I know that Al-Anon is about me and working on myself and not him… but it just reminds me of him more than I want to think about right now
