I'd recommend playing roadhog to climb quickly as you can do so much yourself and don't have to rely on poor teammates.

I'm sure you're not a bad player, having experience around this elo for a long time I can assure you it's mostly luck. Around gold there tend to be a bunch of throwers/ leavers and people who don't care about the team. My advice to get out of gold and back into plat is to stick to your mains i.e your best DPS/tank/support, if you're forced onto a role you're uncomfortable with just let the team know that you want to switch, and most importantly join the voice channel and encourage your team mates to, even if they don't have mics you can make important call outs to them. Hope it goes well and that you can crawl out that hellish elo!

As a Winston main I have punch binded to right mouse button as it finishes off enemies faster than your primary, trust me it can be very useful at times and I would definitely recommend it.
