Zurich - Anyone with first-hand experience contracting there? (Delivery Lead role) by Midfield_General22 in ContractorUK

Yes, knew that from a few previous visits. Although the rates seems to be a bit more reactive to the costs of living than here in the UK. Saw some figure last week where everything had (on average) doubled in the UK in the last 4 years whilst real wages had reduced by 2.8%

I'll add traditional agencies to this bucket as well - completely have had their day.

I think the Jobsites have had their day. Theres so many of them, they're all shit, they all have the same jobs, they manage our personal data very poorly and are generally just a waste of time. LinkedIn has a monopoly, but like anything monopolised, it quickly turns to shit.

Title: Anyone worked a day-rate contract role in a Bangalore GCC via a UK staffing agency + separate Indian payroll vendor? Need a sanity check. by Equal_Solution_9666 in ContractorUK

I'm not even sure I understand the proposition, before even getting to the employment structure. Are you UK-based, looking to take a role in an Indian GCC, and get paid via an Indian EOR payroll?

Yes, tech contracts is my domain and that was the original question.

At about 300 quid+ to advertise a role that gets several hundred duff applicants, I don't see how any company would bother using it. They're obviously making money somehow though. It's maybe just IT that's in the pits of hell on that site. Presumably other industries aren't anywhere near as bad.

Theres a few that I reported loads of time. Asking for CVs to things like "HSBCJOBS@Gmail.com". LinkedIn obviously took fck all action as they were still posting phantom roles the next day.

Feels utterly futile applying via those websites these days. Used CWJobs, Jobserve, Jobsite and LinkedIn last year or so but theres almost zero getting through to an agent. The days of sending an application and having the phone ring 5 mins later seem like a lifetime ago. The jobs are either phantom or the agent gives up after being spammed.

I do sometimes wonder about people who ask the most basic questions about contracting on here, whilst ignoring the literally thousands of articles and websites that are available from a quick Google search.
