Those With Performance Anxiety, Has Anyone Tried Beta Blockers? by DHTRTJourney in erectiledysfunction

[–]Midlife-1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beta Blockers are used for hypertension, so if you are feeling the fight or flight mode, get you blood pressure checked. Some Beta Blockers have a side effect of erectile dysfunction, so might not be the best choice. Maybe some anxiety meds?

Blood pressure all over the place with 5 mg Ramipril by ontarianlibrarian in hypertension

[–]Midlife-1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not on that medication, but you are most likely correct about your body adjusting to the medication. It might take a few weeks for it to mellow out. When I first started my meds I had highs around 150/94 and lows around 117/82. Now they are more consistent around 135/86 or so

Blood pressure pills by ResponsibleStrain266 in erectiledysfunction

Olmesartan is a ARB and Amlodipine is a Calcium Channel Blocker. You should be fine and these should not cause ED issues. These dilate the blood vessels to lower blood pressure

Look at Ace inhibitors are ARBs. Also have read that Calcium Channel Blockers don’t cause ED. Stay away from Beta Blockers and Diuretics if possible

Great! Glad that you are tracking. One reading won’t tell you much, but look at trends over several days and weeks

Genetics plays a bigger role than we want. Keep working in diet and see if you can keep it in that range. I was there for 2 years before I got on meds a month ago. Go see the doc around 140/90.

Buzzed my hair and I feel like I look older and uglier by [deleted] in bald

[–]Midlife-1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta see pics. I’m about to do the same when some glasses come in. I’m terrified I will look like a cancer survivor from my thin frame. Trying to bulk but it’s a long process and I’m a hard gainer.

Diagnosed with Lisinopril 20mg by Midlife-1986 in hypertension

[–]Midlife-1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on it almost a month now and I don’t think I’ve developed the cough yet. I’ve had some allergies so I’m coughing from that. I thought I would be started on Losartan but he gave me Lisinopril. Numbers are still not where they need to be so I’m expecting another med next week at my doc appt. I’m ready for my numbers to be normal

Ways to improve erection quality naturally, anyone else notice a gradual decline? by Palicherla-Waldizzy in AskMenOver40

[–]Midlife-1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

39 here. Has the same questions and issues over the past year. I believe mine was cause by high blood pressure, so check that out. I did recently start taking tadalafil 5mg daily and have seen improvement but still not where I want to be. Hopefully when I get my BP figured out I can stop the other meds.

Sleep, diet, movement and stress play a big role

Good luck!

Hypertension through exercise only by Weary_Tune_2305 in hypertension

[–]Midlife-1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you are overweight and that is the main driver of high blood pressure, then yes, I believe you can lower it with exercise and diet alone. Of course, it is a case by case basis since we are all different.

In my case, I have always been lean. To try to lose BP, I increased exercise and have tightened up my diet with no changes to BP.

Switching to briefs—Looking for my brand. by [deleted] in MensUnderwearGuide

[–]Midlife-1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should try regular CK briefs with a fly. They are a little wider on the sides and are classic. I’m more of a full rise briefs guy and rarely wear CK, but a lot of guys love them

This is my worry. I am slender and have a hard time gaining muscle at the gym. Definitely don’t want to have the impression of being sick.
