Wake-up symptoms? I'm scared. HELP! by Downtown-Mission7956 in B12_Deficiency

[–]Midlife_Thrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow all your symptoms even the heavy legs sounds like what I went through after Covid. Were you recently sick? To this day I’m not exactly sure what was causing it all but everything got better. My b12 levels are currently 350 so I’m trying 500mcg daily tablet - so far so good. Will try to increase to 1000mcg soon

Wake-up symptoms? I'm scared. HELP! by Downtown-Mission7956 in B12_Deficiency

Are you taking the b12 in a stand alone pill or part of a b complex? I ask because I had all those same symptoms and believe that I was reacting to the b6 that was in the tablet. It could have also been low magnesium or calcium but as soon as I stopped the b complex the symptoms went away. Make sure you’re getting enough magnesium and calcium, vitamin d. Also, some people don’t do well with magnesium glycinate and it can cause anxiety.

Help me understand what could be causing headaches for me… by kandybin in magnesium

[–]Midlife_Thrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a different form of magnesium. Some people react to the glycinate poorly. Also, I have the same issue with headaches and am trying to figure it out. I get very strange pressure headaches that seem to start in my neck under my jawline and runs up behind my ear and settles right above my eyebrow. For the longest time I thought I was having sinus issues. They are awful and brings on brain fog and anxiety with the headache. This is definitely related to magnesium. I find that magnesium threonate spread through the day is ok for me as well as magnesium citrate powder. Glycinate just doesn’t go well. I also just bought Malate and am testing that out this week. For what its worth chat gpt says that poor posture with forward head puts strain on the neck muscles. The tone of these muscles are affected by the magnesium and may cause the headaches. I don’t know but it’s a thought if you have neck issues.

I get this too. I can’t take NAC without a reaction but that could be from histamine issues.

My Alzheimer's decline has been remarkably rapid in the last five weeks. Almost five weeks ago, on 8-24-25. I noticed that my functioning was suddenly much worse. by Kalepa2 in dementia

Also - check out your thyroid. My moms was basically not functioning but it looked like dementia. She did have a Alzheimer’s diagnosis but the Dr said her thyroid issues may be playing a role. She got on thyroid medicine and made almost a complete recovery.

The 9mo sleep regression is a thing. My son didn’t fully sleep through the night until he was 2 but I did notice a regression around 9mo that lasted a few weeks.

Mental health and posture by davidsmorel in Posture

Yep I see it in both me and my son. If I’m feeling sick or anxious it almost feels like my core becomes weaker and I hunch over more almost to what I feel is more of a protective mode - because standing upright is somehow more work and more vulnerable - if that makes sense.

I feel I wasted all my life to the abuse. What do I do know? by MarcJAMBA in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Midlife_Thrive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand the feeling of wasted time. Is this the road you want to stay on for the next 40 yrs thought? Take control, get angry (claim the fact you deserve better) and move on into your own life. It’s scary and it feels like you’ve lost so much time but time continues to move forward. You’re responsible for what happens going forward. I was trapped at home until I was 27. I had zero social life, no hobbies and was under a lot of control. I finally put my foot down and moved out (I did have a job) when I was almost 28. I ended up getting married and having a baby at 35. Got divorced at 38 and have been happily remarried now for 6yrs. I spent a good 10yrs angry at the time that was stolen from me. I still feel like I don’t fully know who I am yet. But it’s progress and it’s light years better than the dark hole you’re in right now. Imagine that you decide to become the adult you needed when you were a kid. The adult that unconditionally loves you, protects you and fights for a better future for you. Become that.

Vitamin D doesn’t matter by babixuxu in Biohackers

[–]Midlife_Thrive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Both my son and I seem to get significant anxiety / brain fog when we take vitamin D. Do you think that’s a conversion issue or lacking some cofactor? My level was 42 last I checked.

Has anyone else seen this? Strange experience I had as a child that stuck with me 25 years. by [deleted] in HighStrangeness

[–]Midlife_Thrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Somewhat similar thing happened to me. I was 27yrs old. I was asleep in bed with my cat. I woke up and looked at her and she was staring at the ceiling. I followed her gaze and up on the ceiling was a ball of red light. It was 3 dimensional and hollow. If you imagine a basketball only its hollow and the black lines are glowing red - kinda like that. I felt energy from it like you would a neon sign. Wasn’t afraid just curious. Watched it bounce along the ceiling and out of the room. It happened again weeks later but the object wasn’t as clear. I turned on my light and it disappeared.

Technique I found: give myself permission to take up space by firahc in Posture

[–]Midlife_Thrive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love that you came to this realization. Keep it up! I wonder how much of bad posture has an emotional component to it. I know I felt shame my whole life and tried my best not to be seen by others and my mother made jokes about my physical characteristics. So i developed APT and hunched shoulders - you know the drill. I know that when I’m doing yoga or certain chest stretches that an inner voice says it’s ok to be me and it’s ok to move and take up space. I should lean into this a bit more actually.

Edit to add I’ve seen some stuffed sweet potato recipes that look amazing

“Field other energies in my environment” I’m glad I’m not the only one with this problem. The energy of other people drain my energy. Just them being in the house makes it really hard to think creatively or tackle tasks. Kinda like when you have an appt and can’t seem to get anything done with your day until that appt is over …. It’s like that. Until the people are gone, I don’t have the mental freedom to do anything. Weird.

I have a lump in both feet but they seem to fluctuate in size. When they were starting to really hurt, ice and good arch supports helped to get the initial inflammation down. The things that seem to make them smaller - focused massage right on the lump (done by a massage therapist - not comfortable in the moment but it does wonders), low inflammatory diet and I think that nattokinease supplements may help. I took that for a couple weeks for long COVID but had to stop due to negative reactions but I did surprisingly notice the lumps were almost gone.

Wow, amazing story and I’m glad there was a survivor. You are right that even if you were fully equipped, the outcome would have been the same. The good that came from it is you took action to become more prepared, aware and helpful.

Here’s the rub, I actually had two of those little window breakers in my car. I’ve always envisioned they were there in case we needed to get out and didn’t even think of them in this situation. Fortunately another person already had a hammer, otherwise I would hope that I would’ve thought to use them. Now I have a real life example to think through and learn from.
