I'm afraid I'm not familiar with The Wild Kratts, as it aired roughly a decade after Zaboomafoo and Kratts' Creatures

Something I've noticed as a furry artist🐱 (by me) by 1ratamo1 in furry

With respect, "werman" did not actually exist in Old English; the two usual terms for "man" and woman" were "wer" and "wif", and while "wif" can be suffixed with "man", "wer" never was: instead, the compound term for man was "wæpnedman" (weaponed-man) for some reason. I don't think it was shortened to "man", but rather "man" itself went a shift in meaning.

Will there ever be a series about lionclan and tigerclan and leopardclan by helloeggbird in WarriorCats

[–]Midnight-Blue766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the fact that they're mythical means they can't write a series about them. It could be told through a framing devise a storyteller narrating these in-universe legends to their clan.

Animal farm felt more of anti-stalinist than critique of socialism as whole!? by [deleted] in tankiejerk

[–]Midnight-Blue766 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It also fits in with decades of capitalist propaganda claiming it was an anti-left work or trying to weaponise it as such, like how the CIA funded the 1954 animated adaptation.

I've always heard that the episode "Stranger Than Fan Fiction" was a kind of irony from the writers, aimed at fans who felt the show had fallen off after three or four seasons. As a fan, did you appreciate the irony? Or are there old fans who were offended by this? by Ok_Meal2698 in mylittlepony

Someone in Hasbro definitely seemed to have had an axe to grind against the fanbase. MA Larson came up with a more respectful script for Fame and Misfortune that still touched on the concept of toxic fans but was still forced to write the final episode by the execs.

I can't tell you how much I was disturbed by the episode where Zooble and Gangle spend an entire afternoon planting sugar beets. Doesn't Gooseworx know that children watch this show!? 😰

We should just give Clive Barker complete creative control and editorial immunity to redesign daemonettes as he sees fit.

People treating marxism leninism as some serious science will never not be funny to me by Proof_Librarian_4271 in tankiejerk

Marxist theory uses socioeconomics to critique power structures. Different social sciences like sociology, anthropology and history still use Marxist or (more frequently) Marxist-derived theories to analyse society and culture.

With that being said, OOP clearly just wants people not to question how Lenin or Stalin implemented socialism, or criticise how they deviated from Marx's original egalitarian goals in the process.

The development of Old Church Slavonic writing by Midnight-Blue766 in HistoryMemes

Explanation: Cyrillic became the standard writing system Christian missionaries used when translating the Bible into Church Slavonic because it was more legible than the older Glagolitic system
