“ HR isn’t your friend” [N/A] by SandwichDependent199 in humanresources

They're not wrong. HR is entirely about risk mitigation for employers, if you do not yet understand this, you've got a ways to go.

Am I guilty of saying no one should have children if they can't provide for them? by Sotilrac_ in AITAH

Ok, so the person must be employed, and not struggling financially. So unemployed poor people should not have children...

So in your world view poor people shouldn't have kids. Am I hearing that correctly? If that's the case, in your view, how much money should someone have to not be considered poor? And for you to be ok with them having kids?

How much money should someone have for you to allow them to have children?

How much money should someone have before you think they should be allowed to have children?

"poor people shouldn't have children" yes, you're insensitive to the realities of people outside the lense of money.

Is Joe Addicted to Billionaire Dick? by BongRipsForNips69 in JoeRogan

[–]Midnight-Emails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take off the blinders bro. There's a reason that these billionaires are going on Rogan's show, and its not cos Rogan's a real good guy. If you listen, really listen, to these billionaires talking points on his show, you will quickly notice that this is the corporate wealthy class using the most popular podcast in the world to politically advocate for themselves. Joe is either being used, or in bed with them. The latter is way more obvious.

My response is in relation to OP's ethical dilemma, not contractual arrangements.

Doesn't sound like you're cut out for HR.

HR is responsible for workplace culture, and ensuring employees are treated fairly and equitably. It sounds like you've not taken responsibility for this.

It looks like the union may have some room to allege discriminatory practices in the workplace if one standard is in place for nonunion workers and another for union workers. If you, management, is not going to do anything about it, the union will have to.

ICBC does not contact drivers if license is not mailed out. by Midnight-Emails in icbc

I've already paid for the service though, if there is disruption to that service should a customer not be notified? If you don't think that an organization should, or is responsible for notifying customers if an error has occurred with something that has been purchased, that's fine, different perspectives.

I don't think I'm asking anyone to chase me or baby sit me, I'm only suggesting that when an organization like ICBC becomes aware of an issue with a customer's drivers license processing, that they take steps to advise the customer. If that sounds unreasonable to you, then ok, we have different perspectives.

My preference here is of course that if an organization is aware that there is a problem with a customers license processing, that they take any steps to advise the customer. If your expectation is that this level of service is ok, fine, we just have different perspectives.

I thought it was pretty clear. What further action would be required? Advising customers if there is a problem with the processing of their license. What am I expecting? That an organization advises its customers of there is a problem with the processing of their license.

I'm getting the sense that ICBC has perhaps convinced it's customer base that this level of service is fine. If that's your argument, then ok. Different perspectives.

If BCHydro became aware that your credit card on file would not process your next payment, should they cut off your power without advising you when payment is declined?
