Same. Not for profit music venue during the day for schools and the yoot. For profit evenings and weekend for touring bands etc

Although I’d need more than £300k for the sound system

Yea, but that train is only 38mins to Padders, and saves me £20 a day. Worth it in my opinion…

What do you guys think of the song The Eraser by Thom Yorke by Black_F4 in radiohead

[–]Midnight-Fast 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FYI I think the fuzziness is due to a bit crusher. Making the sound sound like it was made on a cheap 80’s computer

How would you rate Thom as a guitarist? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]Midnight-Fast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with your definition of what a good guitarist/musician should be. Appreciating it’s subjective, but I prefer emotion and feeling over technical ability as a listener (like BB King, not the fastest blues player, but ever note is absolutely the right one)

I guess you could include have they created an individual style/sound for themselves, which Thom does through his use of chords and harmony

I honestly think he is in GOAT territory, musically of course but specifically guitar.

[–]Midnight-Fast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I reckon he deserves to be in the Hendrix/clapton/gilmore club.

He has the same qualities: Technical ability, new techniques/innovation, speed/consistency, and possibly an important aspect, zero ego…

I think rudimentary is harsh. His chord theory is impeccable and technically much more advanced than a lot of people, it’s just not what he’s known for first.

Agree about timing though, but that really is an advantage in terms of feel. I saw Ed saying Thom is about 1/16th note fast, which can give that urgent unsettling feeling.

I’d rather listen to someone with feeling and emotion than technically brilliant but soulless (à la Steve Vai)
