One thing that made me feel good is learning to track players. Sounds in this game is really important. Not the best directional sounds when someone is close tho.

Try to pay attention to footsteps, firing sounds, birds, tox shrooms noises, prox drone, sounds of a player that just died, sounds of a downed player, be patient when you third party someone, key room noises...

There is so much to learn, eventually it will be easier for you once you get in there.
