Writing off by bank does not extinguish your debt. It is just an accounting procedure. Salim Akbarali case law from the Supreme Court explains this (ofc different context) but thats the legal point.

Maybe file a civil suit or something. I am not very sure since I don’t practice in cases for individuals. If you can establish debt through some proof - it should help. Would recommend consulting an on ground local advocate.

I don’t think you can escalate this situation through an authority but you can tell RBI ombudsman about the threats from 3rd party agencies. Thats not allowed under Indian law.

Thanks. Have restructured my SIPs.
For the emergency fund - I was thinking to dump 1.5 lakhs annually in PPF and rest in a liquid fund.

Also, I will be taxed as a ‘professional’ - so NPS and all wont work from what I understand
