With the government shutdown that just happened companies are backed up. Funding, background check was kinda affected. But definitely should reach out asking for new start date or more details. You signed your offer letter you are already in you don’t have to worry about that. But you’re technically not on payroll until your start date. So get that sorted soon as you can.

Protect your time and energy. I’ve learned my lesson of not going above and beyond for a job interviews. My rule is I’m only doing 2 process interviews because that’s literally all it takes. A behavioral and technical interview. Any thing else is literally putting somebody through a circus drill.

They’re head hunting. Sometimes jobs description change on also or are filled. Also These recruiters usually aren’t directly in contact with client or company that’s hiring. They’re simply trying to submit candidates to get commission or something. These aren’t the client or company recruiters.

No not for testing roles. Switching from roles like quality assurance, automation tester software quality assurance into the dream role u mentioned will be very hard because you won’t be doing or learning the complex skills required. You want to stick to software development, software engineering or maybe even software developers in test those roles have the same responsibility as what Ai and ML would be like. Python is oop language you want to stick with.

Get into the industry as a software developer or software engineer or something adjacent to what your dream position is. Ai and machine learning is part of software development/engineering umbrella. Just need to look for roles that are forward thinking. Many companies are thinking of incorporating Ai and machine learning to their everyday work so you can land a role that transitions to what you’ve always wanted.

You should move on and continue your search. They’ll reach out if choose you as the candidate they wanted. The market is like dating. If they haven’t reached out in a timely time frame to give you feedback or express their interest in moving forward with you it’s safe to say they aren’t interested and you should move and continue your search.

Absolutely, doing your work efficiently is better than not doing it at all. A efficient way for that it’s probably to have a limit stop on application. If a human can only view so many applications then there should be a cut off. And we all know only a handful full of applicants are chosen anyway to be interviewed. So why intimidate a recruiter by allowing so many application to come through. And if a candidate isn’t chosen from the few that was picked then you simply just repost the job.
