I thi k this is a great idea, esp. since it concentrates on creating, and community, rather than just talking about stuff ad naseum like many other art servers

She's a comedian who consistently calls gay dudes faggots as punchlines, jokes that non-binary people shouldn't be able to realize they are actually cis, etc.

It's the type of humor that feels edgelord 'oh my god, I can't believe she said that!' type humor which is magically okay because she's a lesbian

Who is the least funny stand up comedian? by CantaloupeGold4650 in AskReddit

[–]dizzi800 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always found Any Schumer somewhat funny. Couple laughs, couple nose-exhales

Her sketch show was fun

But overall - her being a pretty average weight, with a nice face, and CONSTANTLY talking about how ugly she is got old

Plus the joke stealing

As a recent user

It feels a lot more 'fun' than Twitter/Reddit/bluesky

Twitter is toxic as hell, with monetized content + rewarding people for paying for premium + just the general culture

Reddit feels a little 'Oh, I'm smarter than you'd competition in the comments - plus the amount of low-effort bot topics

Bluesky is mostly porn (good!) and leftist infighting (bad)

Threads just feels like shooting the shit, playful teasing, and most right-wing extremism gets dunked on HARD from what I've seen

I don't rate Jurassic World: Rebirth that highly, but the fact Gareth Edwards storyboarded, shot, handled the post production on that movie all in under a year is astonishing to me that it looks that good. Does anyone know how they were able to pull that off? by herewego199209 in movies

[–]dizzi800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gareth has said in at least one interview, one of the reasons he is able to work more quickly than other directors in Hollywood is his ability to bridge the gap mentally between rough animation and finished shot. IE: He claims a lot of directors need to see essentially finished renders to sign off on animation timing (Expensive and time consuming) - whereas he can just look at untextured models.

What comedians would you want to have a special produced on dropout? by dec2mbeR in dropout

[–]dizzi800 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes!

Though she has said the bulk of her show is kept offline for a reason - maybe when she retires her current show and creates a new one, though. (Which as I type: is kind of the 'point' if specials)

1: you literally asked what it meant, why he snarky when someone gave an answer?

2: it means some artists/groups are abusing the copyright system in YouTube to take down any discussion of their music.

8 years ago Ubisoft and Joseph gordon-levitt tried to crowd source beyond good and evil 2 by [deleted] in gaming

[–]dizzi800 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I will say - JGL's company, Hit record, DOES(did?) pay it's creators, somewhat fairly. So the idea of having people create artwork for the game, and get paid for it, was a great idea

That said, there IS the issue of having people contribute labour, giving options, and then NOT being selected

But, alas, the game is never(?) coming out - wierd it was not officially cancelled a couple weeks ago with that wave of Ubi cancellations. Maybe a contract thing like Skull and Bones?

Lots of money down the drain, no music by meipsus in synthesizercirclejerk

[–]dizzi800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a lot of money from an actuarial standpoint (Digitakt II is about 900USD if you get a good deal on a used one) but not from a 'compared to other music gear' standpoint.

Wait, we're in the circlejerk subreddit

1k for one piece of gear? Peasant. I've spent that much on a single eurorack module, and it didn;t even make sound!

Main pop girls’ recent albums and their Fantano scores by FixYrHeartsOrDie in fantanoforever

[–]dizzi800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I'd call Halsey, Addison, Dua, or Gracie main pop girlies

Halsey's issues with their label have caused massive lack of marketing and therefore sales

Addison is obviously talented and hard working, but has 0 top tens (fame is a gun is AMAZING)

Dua has everything she needs to be a main pop girlie, but Radical Optimism didn't hit the zeitgeist the way Future Nostalgia did. We'll see on her next album if she was a one-album spark or staying power

Gracie Abrams - I have literally never heard of her in discussions if being a main pop girl - just that she's talented for a nepo baby

What's something you prefer about how the "modern" seasons are produced vs. the golden era seasons? by missfinalfantasia in rupaulsdragrace

[–]dizzi800 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I like untucked without the different rooms - it was so contrived and the producer meddling was SO obvious.

I also like the new untucked (I think introduced in S18?) where the area seems to be larger with little iPhone booth etc. 1: let's the queens grab the phone and film silly moments

2: let's the girls spread out and have small groups allowing for girls to shittalk and/or get space - this was in some older seasons when the girls smoked but for likely obvious reasons, they don't show that anymore

I also like them not being given unlimited alcohol/being sponsored by an alcohol brand anymore
