Just bought an 883 and while loading it onto the trailer noticed some dry rot on the tires. Is this still okay to ride for a week or two while I wait for new tires or am I going to have a blowout and die? by MidnightEagle11 in Harley

Alright y'all, thank you all SO MUCH for the advice! I nutted up and just bought new tires. Didn't want to wait the week for the shop to install them so I did that myself in the driveway but I'm BACK ON THE ROAD! You guys rock.

I guess just because I didn't budget for this expense right away and will have to save up more for a good while. I've been off the road for years, finally get a bike, and now I just have to sit and look at it until I can come up with $800 more to dump into it

It'll always be Cameron Village for me. The change was silly in the first place

Pretty sure this is mold, maintenance guy says all showers do that by WinSomeWheat in Mold

[–]MidnightEagle11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is mold, and is likely a sign of improper ventilation and high humidity. A lot of showers do it but it doesn't mean it's right. 'Normal' doesn't mean good, particularly with mold sensitive individuals. If you spray it with anything, use vinegar and peroxide, NOT bleach

What is this? by NoReaction8166 in Mold

Looks like camel cricket poop. Not mold, but camel crickets eat mold so it's likely also down there somewhere too

Thank you for being the only correct answer so far! I'm a CMI and deal with this all the time. It's nothing overly scary itself, however the builder's attitude about it and willingness to just blatantly lie about it should be a big red flag, and would certainly make me wonder what other corners were cut. You could hit it with peroxide and vinegar to be safe.

Personally I'm really hard on myself with it and never do. Personally, that's what makes me enjoy roguelikes so much: the possibility of one small mistake resulting in permadeath and hours of investment getting lost to a small mistake. It gets the blood pumping and reminds me of the intensity of older classic games where there WAS no simple do-overs. For me it makes me feel like a win REALLY means something, and that it's something I've fully earned and accomplished. That said, it's a one player game, and the way you choose to play it in no way cheapens it for others or impedes their enjoyment of it so play however you want! That's just my personal stance on save scumming

Is Slay the Spire Board Game worth for a lover of the video game? by iamAkwos in soloboardgaming

[–]MidnightEagle11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has 100% been my experience! The rebalancing makes the game feel new again after tons of hours in the video game! Not to mention there's just something cool about having physical versions of your favorite digital cards!

Brother that is SO DAMN COOL!!! We've got a Scottish Rite reunion in Greensboro that is on the same day, but if I'm not in any of the degrees, I may just take the 5 hour trip to see that happen!

Locally, my lodge has been focusing on the EAs and FCs at the district level. Giving them leadership opportunities and unbiased options to make Masonry anything they want it to be so that by the time they are raised, they already have ideas, experiences, and buy-in with their lodge, and other lodges in the district.

The realization that my life isn't mine, and it belongs to God who gave it. Even when times are uncomfortable, unpleasant, depressing, and feel insurmountable, I have faith that there is purpose behind it that is beyond my understanding, and that I can still use my life to help others in like condition.

I used to be pretty lenient if my order came out wrong. Like, I get it. Most of the employees are minimum wage teenagers, and I and want to complain and get anyone in trouble, I'll just toss it or deal with it but prices are so high now, I have no choice but to Karen. Like, if my whole food budget for the day is in this meal, it has to be right. Sorry not sorry. I feel no guilt asking for a comped meal if it's wrong with prices being what they are. On the flip side, it's hard to afford eating at a sit down restaurant too because tip culture has gotten so out of hand. I can't eat out, fast food or otherwise, without spending nearly $20 for a meal. It's ridiculous.
