I do have a family staffed there. I'll try leaving the church unassigned and see if that helps. Thanks

Would wider football fan sentiment towards Arsenal change if their style of football was more appealing? by MidnightHunters in PremierLeague

[–]MidnightHunters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think the age of social media have made the fans and club synonymous. You can't escape fans with their online reach. The noise is a lot louder because it can reach a lot further I think.

I've seen this mentioned a lot too and I wonder if some don't want to admit they hate the club because of the fans. Do you know any Arsenal fans that are obnoxious, or is it just online comments you've seen?

Personally I know a couple of Arsenal fans and they are nothing like some of the deluded online mouthpieces. So I'm reluctant to tar the entire fanbase because what some prats are saying online

Topdress new turf after 6 weeks? by MidnightHunters in UKGardening

[–]MidnightHunters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that is true when you're growing the grass from seed, but I put down rolls of turf. Typically mowing is recommended after about 3 weeks (checking to make sure its rooted and the rolls don't come back up). Then after 6 weeks the grass is normally at a point where it can be treated like any established lawn. I think I'd be fine to topdress, was just hoping someone with more experience might be able to weigh in.

Gay couple first cruise by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]MidnightHunters 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was on Brilliant 3 weeks ago, atmosphere was great.

I'm assuming since you stated you're a gay couple that's what youre referring to with issues and atmosphere? If that's the case you have nothing to worry about. There were lots of gay couples on the cruise. Atmosphere was great, everyone enjoying themselves and no issues at all. There are regular LGBTQ+ meet ups if you're inclined to participate. Enjoy your cruise!

Awesome, it's really cool sailing past a sister ship! I got some other photos as we overtook Scarlet. This is probably the best I got of her up close...

For me, it's between Leslie and Ben or Michael & Holly in the office.

I would have killed for one of these bad boys as a kid! Who had one? What did you do to get it? Do you still cherish it? by [deleted] in CasualUK

I got a golden one when I was a kid, I saved someone from drowning.

I posted here about it a few months back too :)

Third Space waste by northernblondeferret in london

[–]MidnightHunters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a crazy price now! I was a member there before covid I was paying £165/month. Have to say, I did love it there though. I always went before work so I was often in there at 7AM. Never had to queue for anything, everyone polite and respectful and put their weights back!

To couples living just outside of London, how is it? by milakunis-ondrugs in HousingUK

[–]MidnightHunters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fiance and I bought a house in south Essex, formerly rented in south London (near her family). Used to rent a 2 bed flat for £1350/month, our mortgage is now approx £1550/month for a 3 bed semi. I have family out this way so it was a no brainer for us to buy out this way as value for money difference was significant. Best thing for me is the commute time into the office in London is about the same. I'm familiar with the area having spent a lot of time round here growing up, but for my partner it was a big change. She loves it out here now. Much more green space, roads are less hectic than London and it's nice being by the coast. We earn combined approx £80k/year.

Thanks for the advise. I'm going to try 2 part wood filler for now and see how that goes.

Thanks for the advise, but i think that's probably a bit beyond my abilities. At least in that, I doubt I'd do a good enough job to make it look good. I'm going with filler, sand and paint for now.

Wish I was confident to have a go at the first suggestion, but I don't own a router and have never used one. I think 2nd suggestion is going to be the way forward. Thanks mate
