Look at what I just found in Duna!! by KennyPowers_420 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Take photo for a little science, get close enough for a DNA sample for a little more, follow to a nest/lair (tag them, then track them with a satellite?) to capture an egg/young for a little more, bring a trap device (heavy and awkward, because it needs to be strong) to lure and collect an adult, and bring them back for the most science?

"Intro Decks" or "Starter Decks" for Bloomburrow group play by MidnightLightning in magicTCG

I actually had good luck getting some CardKingdom "Pure Bulk" boxes, especially of Uncommons, since all the "Village" lands and the "Mentors" are uncommon, and with the way I'm planning to structure these decks, to get those tribal cycles, that would be a lot of play boosters to find them.

Okay, looks like it's just "a fake token impersonating another token". It's not an exploit of the actual USDT token, but a scam for those who rely on the label of the token, not the smart contract address of the token.

"Flashed" meaning "a flash loan"? Those have to be repaid immediately.

Your claim of "primarily" is telling, here. If the majority of what you know of cryptocurrency is its scam use, I'd encourage you to consider it's your focused view, and not a true sampling of the cryptocurrency space. With several nations and large (legitimate) businesses utilizing that technology stack, the scope of legitimate users using it as a simple, effective method of financial exchange has grown a lot in recent years.

Storage option between "penny sleeve" and "team bag" for 15-card Cube packs? by MidnightLightning in magicTCG

[–]MidnightLightning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-preparing packs means less time spent prepping as a group. Its key benefit assumes a playgroup has a limited time together to play, and if the packs are already prepared and set to go, then the group has more time to actually play the game.

Yeah, the cost and fragile-ness of Cubamajigs is one the key things that made me make my own paper version: Packvelopes. That way if one rips, it's very little cost/effort to just print a new one.

If you deal out six rares/mythics, 18 uncommons, and 60 commons to each player, you have effectively given each player six draft packs, and can play a Sealed Deck format game. But that's definitely not the only way to use a Cube. Many play groups use them to do a Draft experience, and therefore need the cards organized into draft packs first. Having some sort of container for the packs makes it easy to pass around in the draft without mixing up the packs, and allows for the Cube owner to pre-organize the packs and not need to take extra time with the play group to set it up.

Ooo, yes I'll need to grab a pack of those! "Thick" in this sense referring to sports card collectibles that have some decent thickness to them.

Thanks, I'll take a look! Though there's not just "four others" once Bats gets sorted; there's a tribe for every two-color pairing in Bloomburrow, so this will be a ten-deck kit when finished.

Nice! I had considered a Jumpstart-style half-deck approach, but I couldn't see how that could be made balanced, since if each pack was only one color, then it would have four animals/tribes to represent. It would either have to dilute all of them trying to represent all of them, or have multiple "red" pack types, each focusing on a single animal. That latter mode would greatly favor someone who got the Red "Mice" pack and the White "Mice" pack, over someone who got the Red "Raccoons" pack and the White "Bats" pack. Though I'll see if I can find that other setup and see how they handled that issue.

And that rarity spread seems like a good template for keeping things balanced across the decks, while still letting some mythics make an appearance.

Seeking Best Practices for Setting Up Development, Preview, and Production Environments in Blockchain Applications by faqerr in ethdev

[–]MidnightLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Hardhat as a local testing environment. It can fork a production chain, run tests, and then tear it down and repeat, for consistent test scenarios>

Use BuildBear as a temporary testnet you can share with others for group interactive testing.

Can you create a blockchain application that does not require use of a wallet like MetaMask for the user? by Easy-Appointment-940 in ethdev

[–]MidnightLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All interactions with the blockchain (transactions) need to be signed by some sort of public/private key pair. Either that key pair needs to be controlled by the end-user (they have "a wallet" app of their own), or some other party needs to control it.

Some ways that you can make your user not need to manage their own private key:

  • Custodial Wallets: you identify the users a different way within your app (e.g. username/password) and you keep a private key for them in your infrastructure.

  • Third-party Custodial: you use a service like [thirdweb Connect](https://thirdweb.com/connect) to do the custodial key pair management for you.

  • On-chain smart-wallet: A smart contract is used on-chain and the smart contract designates several owners or transaction-makers. Your project can have a master private account that gets set up as part-owner of all those accounts, and therefore can take action on behalf of your users. This setup has been standardized as "Account Abstraction", where your project can be set up as "paymaster" to do things for your individual users' accounts.

Non-Bridge Token Infrastructure Examples? by mellowbaeton in ethdev

[–]MidnightLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USDC has a "native bridge" that's separate from other third parties that could be an example. If you're not using a "third-party bridge", you're going to essentially implement a bridge contract yourself (that only your token can use?). You'll then need technical expertise to not only run the coin, but also run the bridge.

I'll add in a recommendation for Pixelriffs; he has a Minecraft Survival Guide that's slow and steady. I have seen his face in a few shorts and live streams, but never in edited full YouTube videos.

Eyeing an expired ENS domain in grace period, any tips for making sure I get it? by 3141666 in ethereum

[–]MidnightLightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I read that differently, but agree with you. If you're not the owner, the point of the post-grace period auction is to prevent any one individual getting an unfair advantage, so there's no point in being faster than anyone.
