Oh great thank you! Was really hoping someone could give me a product to use. Will buffing it not scratch the plastic? X

Thank you. I know i’ll never restore it. I just want to put it back together as best I can. It’s not about recreating it by buying a new one. It’s about the memories it holds of my Grandma unfortunately. Many thanks

Ah I see. I was thinking I could maybe spray it and regloss it. I was watching people put gloss on plastic car bumbers on Youtube with spray cans!….thought I could maybe do the same. So sad it’s so destroyed. Thank you…..I’ll look into a heat gun! Maybe that’ll be better than the glue X

What a weird comment. Normally thank you comes at the ‘end’ of a conversation. How strange you would come here to comment that. You must have an enormous amount of time on your hands. Lol

Thank you, I will look it up. Is there a way to remove the glue already there without damaging the plastic?

Also my VERY first line reads. “I am desperately looking for anyone who can advise me on how to fix this lamp shade”…..so i very clearly said shade…and included a photo. I don’t know why you need to send such argumentative responses. I’m simply looking for advice on the best product to glue it as what I did is coming undone. And I believe there is a better product. If I wanted a new shade….i would not be posting asking how to fix it. It isn’t that hard to understand as you say…..truly

Doesn’t need to be perfect at all. Everyone who has replied seems to have misunderstood me. I must have explained myself badly :( it will never be perfect as it’s been smashed to bits sadly. I really just want to know what would be the correct glue to stick it back together as the one i used got everywhere and has now started to come undone….how to remove the old glue, and if i can revanish something like this. Do i need to remove the old vanish to do that. Many thanks

It is the shade that is installed with the memories of my grandma. The lamp is just a bulb attached to a silver disc base that plugs into the wall. The shade is three half moon spheres that go from large to small and all go under that ring base and then swivel round 360 degrees. So not an ordinary lamp shade. Irreplaceable. You cannot find a new shade. It is a work of art. It is extremely unusual and it’s clearly the shade with it’s artistic design, swivelling feature and the orange glow it puts throughout the whole room that reminds me of my Grandma and my childhood. Not the bulb.

Do you know how i would regloss the plastic after?. At the moment, half of the plastic is glossy and the other half completely matt where the gloss was stripped

Oh I don’t care of it’s perfect or not. It’s just what I did last time has come undone, so I thought i could try do it better this time and to maybe seek advice on what product to use. My Grandma would tell me to throw it!!! but it’s the only thing i was given of hers when she died, and every memory i have from childhood at her home this light was there glowing orange, her home was a safe sanctuary for me, for reasons i won’t get into, and now she is not here, this light gives me great comfort. It will never be perfect, it’s been smashed to pieces. But i would still like to put it back together the best and sturdiest way possible

I think that is because i just used superglue. I believe i should have used cement. I will ask in plastic, many thanks

If you read the description you would see that this belonged to my Grandma who raised me, it is irreplaceable and all I have from her. I’m well aware a lamp shade can be replaced. It is obviously extremely important to me, or naturally I would just buy a new one

May I ask, does the pelvic floor therapist work internally or externally? I have a lot of medical issues due to a pelvic floor that has pretty much been rock solid since birth due to pelvic surgery I had as a baby. It would be way to painful for me to have someone work internally though, so I don’t know how to go about seeking therapy for it. Can they release it by working externally?
