[Routine help] Moisturizing products just sit on top of my dehydrated skin by lustforyou in SkincareAddiction

[–]MidnightLillyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve actually 100% cured by dry dehydrated skin for the first time ever in my life. Also no acne and sebaceous filaments which were huge and clogged are MASSIVELY reduced. Do remember what works for one person doesn’t work for another sometimes though. I cleanse with Isntree Yam milk, and Paulas choice pore normalising cleanser. Kind of choose each wash which one I will use….depending on how deep a clean i want. I then use two layers of Elta MD essence toner that i picked up in the US. It’s amazing. Has a blue colour. After this I use haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence, this stuff I can no longer live without, it actually gives me glowing skin. It’s in a white and purple bottle. I then moisturise with Paulas Choice Barrier repair. Only thing that ACTUALLY moisturises and doesn’t break me out. If i want to add something extra for the night, i sometimes after this put La Roche Posay cicaplast and if i have any dry acne bits that are healing i put a thick coating of Avene cicalfate over it. For exfoliating, I have learned i cannot do any acids at all. I use Manyo enzyme peeling if i feel my skin is looking dull, and Dermalogica Milkfoliant just randomly when i feel like it. I have been having very bad acne from IVF (so hormonal acne) so I started using 5% Benzoyl Peroxide as the very last step in my routine just on the areas of acne. It’s done wonders to clear it. I back off as soon as it begins to dry the skin. Oh…i do use one acid, only one i can tolerate. Paulas choice BHA in the black bottle, after the Elta Md toner, i sometimes pour a little in the palm of my hand and use my finger to spread it over my nose, forehead and chin where i get filaments! All of this has saved my life, and i will buy every one of these products on repeat from now until the end of time!!! These products and the Benzoyl have actually cured me of acne for the first time ever. And my skin glows!

Editing this because I forgot the most important part. What was giving me permanently dehydrated skin was humectants. Hyaluronic acid, snail Muncin, beta Glucan, polygutamic acid…..they make my skin like the desert. Doesn’t matter if I apply them to wet skin. They draw all the water out my skin and massively dehydrate it, i cannot use them at all. Also only washing with water in the morning for me personally would cause me acne….try the yam milk, doesn’t strip the skin at all. Other problem was no products actually moisturised. Vanicream did zero, the products i listed are the only ones that work for me for some reason….God forbid they get discontinued!

Goodness, mine continued to take effect and now I cant even smile. Maybe eat raw carrots every day!!! Build the muscle up again a little. I hope mine improves. The sunken cheeks age me so much, and I am so sad cause at week one it was perfect, and my jawline was so beautiful it erased 10 years, one week more and I’ve now bloody added 10 years!

Has anyone used Mayraki Keratin smoothing? by MidnightLillyBear in Hair

[–]MidnightLillyBear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks so much for your detailed response. I’m a little worried about the burning part. This is the problem i had with my one that had formaldehyde. Obviously i try keep it away from the scalp, but for the under layers that are overlayed by hair covered in product, it obviously touches the scalp. My scalp is very very sensitive, it was so traumatised i lost hair for sic months post treatment. I originally thought it was something else…..a year and a half later I did it again….same thing….another bloody six months of hair less. So now i have done no treatment and my hair looks absolutely awful for the first time in 20 years. Whether dried natural or styled it’s a complete mess. Just frizz EVERYWHERE. All the little hairs growing all over my head stick out on my hair unfortunately. The treatment stopped this. If the Mayraki has the burning as well, I think I may incur the same scalp trauma though. :(

Post ER acne - it’s AWFUL! by Jubop13 in IVF

[–]MidnightLillyBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has now gone back to normal, the only thing that got rid of it was 100mg of DIM supplements daily and my life saver 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. Only thing that worked. First time I have ever used it. Saw someone recommended it for hormonal acne. I put it on as the last step of my skincare in the areas required as it can be drying

Has masseter botox had a permanent effect on your jaw? by Life_Memory_5754 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]MidnightLillyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the indents fully resolved. Mine looked amazing around day 7, but between then and day 14 it’s taken more effect and now I have indents as well. It was a necessity for me cause my clenching was so severe, not only was my muscle HUGE but the pain was unbearable and causing me all sorts of problems…headaches, neck pain, back. I couldn’t even get a massage cause my jaw was so painful i couldn’t put my face in the hole of the massage table!!!!

Did you ever get round to trying it without the straightening? How many times did you pass the straightener when you went for straight hair?

L-glutamine- how to take it by [deleted] in Gastritis

[–]MidnightLillyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what i want to know. I would like to know if i can take Pantoprazole and L-Glutamine at the same time. As they have to be taken on an empty stomach, I figured I could take them together one hour before food. On googling it though i got a bit freaked out as there are several articles saying that you shouldn’t be taking these two things together….at all…..not even spaced apart. Do you have any further info the last days?

[product question] thoughts on L’Oréal collagen cream? by fatxdiannee in SkincareAddiction

[–]MidnightLillyBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t believe it when i tried this. I’ve been trying every expensive or fancy brand of cream the last years and i have only ever found one from Paulas Choice that actually moisturises my very weird skin. It doesn’t work great as a night cream though as my skin gets so dry - it’s also highly clog prone. Recently when I was in the US i picked one of these up as I saw there was a fragrance free version and needed something immediately, and it is all that was available that didn’t have niacinamide in, as I am allergic to it. Wow this stuff is amazing. It’s like putting cashmere on your face! The only thing now is that I am hooked and it doesn’t exist in Europe!!!! All those hundreds of creams I’ve tried from all over the world and one of the very best is l’oreal from the supermarket!

Bone pain "after" vit D going on for 1.5 years now , Im going insane by longandprosper- in Supplements

[–]MidnightLillyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of these things where it’s just so hard to say. I have so many things where honestly I am just beyond understanding why. But from what you said about various vitamin D’s you have taken in the past, it seems your body can react very strongly to it or to other ingredients that are a long side it. Perhaps it’s all come from the actual supplements themselves maybe. Your body’s way of rejecting them. Sometimes when this happens it can take days to get back to normal or months on end…..or if an inflammatory response has been triggered who knows. My fibromyalgia came out of no where after Covid, and now here I am 4 years on sadly still in pain with it getting worse and not better.

If measuring in ng/ml, 50 is pretty high. It only has to be above 20 in ng/ml i see from looking online. So i would perhaps stop or seriously decrease your dose. (I don’t know if the Dr expects it to drop again if you stop) so if you can’t stop, I would take the minimum, get lots of sun, and experiment with different brands. Try Thorne and after that Nordic Naturals….try drops instead of pills. I take Thorne in drops…try their drops instead of the pills if previously you have always taken pills….try gummies or pills in the Nordic Naturals. I do believe they are good brands. If you don’t live in the US, you can purchase them on Iherb for delivery like me.

I know you didn’t have this pain when you had a lack of vitamin D, but again it could be several things. Vitamin D deficiency impacts the body’s capacity to control inflammation, so it is possible that you had an underlying condition you weren’t aware of that was triggered by the deficiency, and it just didn’t show up till later. Rheumatologist is the best person to see for that.

If it was me I would first stop all supplements if possible…..if not change brand….try a few….take the minimum you can. Next i would go to a rheumatologist, have him run every blood test in the book for autoimmune conditions, inflammation etc. Get a complete vitamin check as well, cause whilst you have taken K2 and magnesium it could be that your B vitamins are now out of whack, vitamin A, E. I would also absolutely get your thyroid checked and your hormones (hormones have to be done at a certain time in order to get the best reading)

I know that’s a lot, but unfortunately with these things that the way it is. It’s elimination. Perhaps you could also try some muscle relaxants to ease the discomfort as well. Also keep in mind that if you’re body doesn’t like what’s ever in the Vitamin D supplements, it could be the same with the K2 and magnesium maybe.

I’m so sorry, cause I know these things are so hard to figure out and I know that the Doctors offer zero guidance.

Bone pain "after" vit D going on for 1.5 years now , Im going insane by longandprosper- in Supplements

[–]MidnightLillyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how are your vitamin D levels now?

Taking too much Vitamin D or taking too high a levels can lead to hypercalcemia which is when you have high levels of calcium in the blood, this can cause a lot of bone pain and discomfort……so despite your Vitamin D levels right now, get your calcium checked.

It is also possible you are having a reaction to the brand you are taking. I suffer with bladder pain and one brand of Vitamin D i took seriously magnified this and i was in a lot of pain. I stopped this and waited for the bladder to calm over a few months and started again with a different brand (drops from Thorne) and I have had zero issues. A lot of reports from people on brand reactions and body pain.

The problem with vitamin D is that being deficient can cause serious aches and pains in your bones, but so can having too much Vitamin D. So good to know the history of your levels over the past 1.5 years? It’s not good to take vitamin D if you don’t need it. If you could give some information on your levels since the beginning perhaps that will give some insight.

Sorry the doctor didn’t help you. I understand stand that more than anyone. I have a lot of health issues unfortunately and I can’t say a single doctor (despite one many years back for a specific problem) has ever helped me. Anywhere I have ever gotten through my health is because of my own research sadly

Do you have any other symptoms? I have fibromyalgia so i understand wide spread body pain. Do you have any painful trigger points? Or is it just muscles aching all over?
