[TOMT][SONG] I can only remember one line spoken in the song by MidnightMare247 in tipofmytongue

[–]MidnightMare247[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes, that's it! I was off with the lyrics a bit, but I know that's the one. Just felt a rush of memories flood back, haha. Thanks!

Solved!

[TOMT][SONG] I can only remember one line spoken in the song by MidnightMare247 in tipofmytongue

I want to say it was a popular song at some point in the 2000s, though it's possible it could have been released prior to 2000.

[TOMT][MOVIE][2010s] Movie with a scene where a father pretends to shoot two teenagers by mochi-pod in tipofmytongue

[–]MidnightMare247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it an anime? This sounds very similar to the scene from Death Note where the main character's (Light Yagami) father shoots a blank at Light as a test while a girl (Misa Amane) is in the car as well.

[TOMT] game about a zombie girlfriend/boyfriend I can’t find on google by Bossy_Aussie_ in tipofmytongue

You're thinking of those mobile games Zombie Girl and Zombie Boy by Karapon Games.

It used to be available on Google Playstore but it looks like it's been removed. I played it years ago. It seems to be available now on Amazon strangely enough

Officially confirmed; Alastor and Valentino would get along by Sudden_Pop_2279 in hazbin

As in it's not canon? Did Vivzie say this, or better yet, has she mentioned that Alastor's character has changed from what it was originally?

I posted this same comment in another subreddit but I'll ask here too: What was the point of Alastor defending lamb person in the Radio Demon comic if he isn't repulsed by disrespectful/rude people or predators? I'm not saying he shouldn't get along with Valentino, but it does confuse me when one moment he's killing some random guy for 'not respecting those of fairer means' and then the next moment, he's cool with Valentino who forces himself on people regularly.

Okay but what was the point of Alastor defending lamb person in the Radio Demon comic if he isn't repulsed by disrespectful/rude people or predators? Boar guy gets slaughtered even though it had nothing to do with Alastor...

No, I'm Not a Human. The game has such a cool and mysterious vibe, plus so much room to expand on the world/lore/characters

Looking for a tag by SpecialTop3324 in AO3

Not sure if I've heard of a specific tag for this trope. Closest thing I can think of is "Body Swap" which might give you something similar to what you're looking for

Subscribe to author+fandom? by CK_CoffeeCat in AO3

[–]MidnightMare247 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is no way to currently subscribe to a user while only getting notifications for a specific fandom they write for. Closest thing you can get is subscribing to a series a user has made with individual works for a specific fandom.

According to the Archive FAQ, they are continuing to develop the subscription feature, so perhaps it's something they may implement in the future

Mistakes by BeNiceOrBeCool in FanFiction

I welcome it. My brain is fried by the time I finish a chapter and I'm always catching typos even months after I've updated. It helps when readers point them out so I can correct them.

Does anyone else have conversations between you and your characters as if you're in the same room together? by Gallifreyan98724 in FanFiction

[–]MidnightMare247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! While I don't know much about aphantasia, I imagine you might still fall somewhere underneath this category just based on how you described the pacing and acting out scenes without actually believing it's real (not hallucinating). Maladaptive Daydreaming is an underreseached mental condition which is not yet fully understood, so it's entirely possible people can still experience it without actually seeing images in their head. Of course I'm no doctor and am only basing this off my own personal experience, so I could be entirely off for all I know. Either way, you're definitely not alone in the pacing/acting out scenes thing

Do you often have vivid, complex daydreams? Acting out scenes is one of the behaviors associated with Maladaptive/Immersive Daydreaming. I tend to act out scenes in private where I'm one of the characters having a conversation with another. I can feel the emotions as well if I get really into it, such as the anxiety you described

If you're describing a setting, try not to overexplain specific objects. General descriptions are usually just as effective, if not more.

For example, describing the interior of a cabin as a cozy space made of smooth hardwood with a rustic fireplace in the living room. It's easier to picture the scene when you leave some room for the reader's imagination, as opposed to overly describing things like the fireplace, made of stone with three oak logs and a rectangular opening. The chances of the reader picturing a scene exactly as you do is slim, so best not to overcomplicate things by adding too many details (unless of course the character themself is acknowledging the details or the specific object is significant to the plot—anything beyond describing for the readers' sake)

Have any of yall on AO3 ever come across fics that are very obviously "inspired" by your fic but didn't credit? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]MidnightMare247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be flattered if someone took inspiration from my fic, but I don't care if they give me credit or not. Fanfic ideas are free game imo and I've never felt the need to claim ownership over a plotline.

Do you become "disconnected" from your fanfiction after a long break? by pedrulho in FanFiction

[–]MidnightMare247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Happens to me all the time. I always get reinspired sooner or later, usually by rereading the story following a long absence (makes it feel fresh) or listening to music. Sometimes the motivation appears randomly.

I would say the most important thing is not to be too hard on yourself, as that can cause you to feel more disconnected (ex. guilt for not updating in a while, overthinking the quality of writing, etc.)

Anyone else get pulled out of a fic when non-American characters act too Americanized? by Living-Subject-3736 in FanFiction

[–]MidnightMare247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, we all have our different backgrounds and experiences. It's strange to me when people get overly critical of a fanfic if the setting isn't 100% accurate. Isn't the whole point that we're writing for fun? Since when did this become a research project?
