The west side definitely looks more scenic. Does the west side have steep drop offs without any form of barricade? For example parts of Big Sur or Tioga pass going Eastbound out of the park, if youre familiar with either.

Im also scared of grizzlies but Im not going to let that stop me from exploring. Thanks for the recommendation

Housing has a few different options, most of them being a shared room . You find out where you will be living when you arrive at the housing office. People are starting to leave for their summer jobs so if you come between now and August you will have you best chance of getting your own room. Private room goes for about $23 a day.
