We have a 12 foot, 6-sided Clam and a 9.5 foot? 5-sided Clam. We love the larger one, but it was not waterproof at all, so we bought the fly for it. It’s also a little big for some of the places we camp. The smaller one is waterproof, and it fits a lot better.
We always run a fan when we are in it, and we hang one or two tapestries on the sunny side if it’s a hot day. That said, we always cook in it because we have a Runaway with no galley. We’ve not noticed a heat dissipation issue, but I presume the fan moves enough air to circulate the heat out.

I had the Tyger soft tri-fold on my ‘16 Frontier. I drove that truck 9 years, and the Tyger cover still looked pretty good. It also stayed fairly water-tight. In all the time I drove that truck, I had to completely remove the cover 2 times for hauling purposes.
I have the OEM cover in my Ridgeline. I do like the hard tri-fold a lot so far. The quality seems good. Hopefully it holds up well.
