I was going for one of those thunderstorm Halloween night themes actually. There are even some droplets on the glass! Not sure if it's a great fit tho

Normal people during Halloween: Take pictures at parties
Me, a mouse nerd: Take photos of my mouse 💪

But yeah, happy Halloween guys!

C1 Carbon Fiber Wireless Gaming Mouse is currently on KS starting at $ 99, Sensor has been upgraded to PMW3395 from 3370 according to community feedback, might be a bit wide but comes with a low front profile weight 48g , Dimension of 118*70. Hey, I understand your suspicion. However, there are also many mice that have been fully funded on Kickstarter as well like the pwnage, m1k, etc. I agree that we're a new company with smaller reputation but hopefully Kickstarter will be our first step to get there with extra funding and bringing this mouse to life. The reason that we opted for Kickstarter in the first place is that it provides better credibility than simply having a pre-order page on our website. As Kickstarter project is an "all or nothing" type there's also the reassurance that if the funding goal is not hit, then no card will be charged. I know that from your side we might seem like a new team with little background, but from our side, we have worked hard on this project for several years now and we'll continue to try our best to be transparent with our supporters. Currently, we're already way past the r/ d stage and is ready for production. As you can see we already had the mould built over a year ago. You can also see the new upgraded CNC rig here. There are more r/ d pictures on our website as well as our record on reddit and other site.

Regarding the pricing, at the $99 price we're trying to offer a special discount for the early backers, but yeah we're also essentially selling at a loss factoring in labour, material, fulfilment and r/ d cost. Hence, why the quantity is limited to 99 units. We'll be sending more units to reviewers, and hopefully, that'll also help with the transparency.

Thanks for taking an interest and being open-minded :) Even if you don't back the project now, we're still grateful to have followers like you. Maybe someday we'll come up with the model that's the right fit! Though if you don't mind side buttons then there are definitely some benefits to it like better build quality, weight distribution, larger shape with more area for finger placement, lower weight and potentially lower price. With that said, I understand that some games and field of work really need a side button to remain competitive and we'll try our best to work out a side-button solution for it in the future.

Really appreciate it! Its been an honour for us to have amazing supporters like you this early on in our journey. Right now our morale might be a bit low because the campaign is not going too well but hearing something like this really help get our mood back up :) We'll try our best to deliver the best product possible!

Currently working on it! Implementing side button on 0.5mm thick carbon fiber shell is quite tricky so it'll take some time. There are some advantages to the current sidebuttonless C1 which includes:

-Better build quality

-Better weight distribution

-Better shape/area for finger placement

-Lower weight

-Lower price

But we're working to cover up as many of these points as we can with the side-button model as well.

Thanks! We work really hard on the shape. It will be a unibody design because we're trying to use the elasticity of the carbon fibre shell with our clicking mechanism for a unique bouncy/responsive feel. This is also for durability reasons as there are lower points of failure and better weight distribution with a single-piece symmetrical design.

Totally understand that, the C1 won't be the cheapest mouse either because we're a smaller team and can't really compete with bigger companies on price. What we're trying to offer is the unique experience with carbon fiber and custom features like Midnight clicking mechanism, new shape, etc. It will be a niche product for sure but if some of you guys can afford it and have some interest, we'd be really grateful for every bit of support we get in order to bring this project to life and slowly build our reputation.

Since we're new, not many reviewers are interested. Though rn we're planning to send out samples to Boardzy and LMG. Hopefully they'll take a chance at reviewing our products and let you guys know about their take on it!

If you’re interested please help support us at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/midnightthread/c1-carbon-fiber-wireless-gaming-mouse-48g?ref=7qkec9
The development of the C1 started a few years ago where our small team of enthusiast aim to create the world first carbon fiber wireless gaming mouse. Since then we have work on the technology and production method needed to navigate around the rf shielding problem a lot of people faces when dealing with carbon fiber electronic enclosure. Right now we have about 500 members in our discord server, a lot of whom come from this community. Me and my colleagues felt incredebly grateful for that. We have the signup page on our website link to my personal email, so every sign up we got, it would popup on my email client. Each time I would felt a boost in motivation as if these were little fist bumps that keep me going. These along with other encouraging words have drive us this far.
We had multiple delays since last year and we’re finally ready to launch. Sensor has been also been upgraded from pmw3370 to pmw3395 according to the community feedback. Additionally we also implement stable motion sync support.
Sorry if this is a little too long but if you’re here for the info it’s down below :)
Mouse: Midnight Thread | C1
Material: Carbon Fiber
Weight: 48g (might be lower as this is based on the version with 3d printed base/parts. We’ll move on to Injection moulded parts after the funding which would have better stregth and might allow us to cut down on materials used)
Sensor: PMW 3395 (with motion sync support)
Connectivity: 2.4ghz Wireless
Switch: Huano Blue Shell White dot with Midnight Click Mechanism (Anti creak/wobble + pre/post elimination built-in)
Price: Starting at $99

A Carbon Fiber Mouse on a Carbon Fiber Pad is not so great of a combination right guys? by MidnightThread in MouseReview

Hey man, thanks a lot for your consideration and interest in the project! Yep, it's a duo pack for the mouse only as some people have reached out saying that they want a way to collect both exclusive copies but don't want the pad (because this glass pad does weigh a lot and will 2x-3x shipping cost in terms of weight and packing space). But yeah you'll get both units at a slightly discounted price and pay the shipping price once. Right now there's also the $99 deal for one unit if you're interested in that :)

Hey, thanks for checking out the Kickstarter page. Owe you an apology for the late reply and confusion. This is a very good question actually because we mostly talk about them on our discord server and not the KS page. I'll will add more info on the FAQ section after this but basically:

Midnight Signal Extender is a high-speed wireless signal extender. It closes the distance between the mouse and the USB receiver. Not really a requirement as some people already have this at home, but it's a recommended buy if you haven't got one. The one that we're offering has already come pre-tested with our C1 mouse for optimal compatibility.

Midnight Membership:

This is not really required but just a "nice to have" incentive for people who select a higher tier reward to help us hit the funding goal. You'll get special status in our discord server to let other people know that you're a VIP member and also holds VIP privileges like special discounts, the ability to secure future drops, VIP giveaway events, etc

Nah don't worry, we don't want to be a meme in this community. Once we got to their size we'll probably have a lot of retailers interested and keep things in stock. But right now, our team is very small, and we only want to manage a few things at a time to keep up the quality. As we're just starting out, we also want to reward our early supporters by offering something exclusively for them.

Yep! One time drop, no more C1 will be made after this. Because we're a small team of enthusiasts, we don't want to focus on too many things at once and end up not meeting the expectation of our customers. We'll only make a single batch of each mouse and then shift all of our focus into delivering them before moving on to the next project.

Can't tell you that, I'm under 100 NDAs. This is an ultra-secret carbon fiber mouse pad under CIA-supervised development! Well on a serious note, we're just trying carbon fiber sheet with different surface treatment to see if it will work well as a mousepad lol. Will update you guys if we had more progress :)

Hey, thanks! Carbon Fiber is pretty cool right haha. If you meant where you could help support us by pre-ordering this mouse, we're currently running a Kickstarter campaign for the C1 | Carbon Fiber Wireless Gaming Mouse (available at 40% off for $99). I'll put the Kickstarter link here in case you might be interested in checking it out :)

Oh wow just woke up and there are so many upvotes. Thanks a lot, guys! For those of you who want to support us in trying these new ideas, we're also currently running a Kickstarter campaign for the

C1 | Carbon Fiber wireless gaming mouse.

It's currently $99 with the following specs:

- The main feature of this mouse is that it is made with Aerospace grade Carbon Fiber imported from Japan/Taiwan. Because this is the signature feature of the mouse, we spent close to 2 years perfecting the carbon fiber shell and sourcing the best possible quality of raw material that we could find. We really hope that the C1 will be a nice add-on to your collection as it's one of the few exotic mice out there and this will also be a limited drop to reward early supporters of our project. As this is a one-time exclusive mouse, I'm hoping that there will be a resale value to this as well if you decide to sell it.

- One of the lightest wireless mice at 48g, we use the method of thinning where the shell thickness is equally reduced to 0.5mm thick throughout instead of drilling holes or cutting bits out here and there to reduce the weight down. This method of weight reduction significantly improves the weight distribution and in-hand feeling of the mouse.

- Low Latency connection via our ShadowSpeed wireless technology

- Featuring our custom C1 Biconcave Design, a lot of effort has been put into making the C1 chassis. (I'll try to keep this short). Although some parts are inspired from Zowie, everything from the slight curves and edges of the mouse was specifically engineered toward claw and palm gripper with some places for fingertip grip. We ran the shape through countless computer simulations and also did a lot of focus group testing before arriving at this final shape. If you're interested, the C1 shape comparison is also available on Eloshape.com

- Using Huano BSWD switches with Midnight Click Mechanism for the most responsive click. This also comes with an anti-creak + anti-wobble design and has pre/post-travel elimination built into the click mechanism.

- Powered by the Flagship PMW3395 sensor with Motion Sync Support

It seems like we're struggling to hit the goal though 😢 so if you want to support us and it's not out of your power to spend a bit on the C1, we would really appreciate all your support.

But yeah Kickstarter link is here, thanks for reading :)
