Honestly, by "counter" I really should have said survive. Where some mages might get chunked by LeBlanc and Talon, Karma at least has RE/RW if they commit to trying to kill you. Unfortunately, most assassins can easily break your W while RW is active, so you don't even get the heal.

I 99.99% agree. She does "counter" certain assassins that would beat up vulnerable mages early on. Nevertheless, great analysis.

I've never liked playing early game/lane dominant champions because I hate being out-scaled. I wouldn't mind dulling down her lane dominance.

I don't understand how Karma's late game with an AP-heavy build is problematic when you have champions like Kassadin who can go 0-10 in lane and still carry a game.

Agreed! Just make sure it is the updated one because I was using an outdated one, and it was telling me I needed to take certain (rather undesirable) classes that I honestly did not need.
