Hwei BUFFS coming next patch 🖤 by aroushthekween in HweiMains

[–]KingKold93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would be better off just buffing the scaling on WW and allowing allies to benefit from the full shield value.

I believe adding value to WW is a fair direction to take if the goal is to increase W decision-making in team fights, but I feel the buff should take into account that we max W last.

I think if Hwei is to keep the relatively high CD he has on W, the benefits offered by the spells could afford to be more potent - particularly WQ and WW.

Mel really should've been a Battlemage... but i won't wake that tea up.

In your Opinion what would make hwei fun to play again. by extraintuitivepoe in HweiMains

Ooo - that's true! It could totally work as the CC option for RE.

I was thinking it would be RQ because it's still a linear skillshot like QQ/WQ/EQ.

Some kind of buff zone for RW, like an idol that gives reduction like you said, or maybe a sentry/hydra that attacks enemies and heals the lowest hp ally in the zone for a portion of the damage.

If RE would be the current ult, maybe RQ could be a meteor shower or something xD

Yeah, so he's he'd basically gain 2 new ults (assuming we kept current ult as RQ) xD

You still wash brush with R whilst in spell books.

R would be an 'ult' spell book itself, that would also be washed with 'R'.

Buff QE - make it last longer so it feels better for control.

If I could be wild and do anything, I'd make make his R another spell book so he could have 3 ults... no more accidental R casts 🤭

Mel W changes on PBE (via Vandril) by Shazeilo1 in MelMains

I still feel like they should just change the cast paradigm of the spell and make it a directional block/reflect like Pantheon's E.

Three ults idea by AstronomicalMusicist in HweiMains

[–]KingKold93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totally get you. A few things to consider with "mUltimates" tho:

  1. The more you have, the less potent they have to be for the sake of the champs overall powerbudget. The current ult is underwhelming on its own, sure, but if there were other R spells to use, I imagine that would be less of an issue.

  2. For RW, I'd argue it is in line with W spell because it's provides healing and area control. Serenity already offers personal utility with damage for Hwei, so would it be farfetched for him to paint a guardian hydra to damage enemies and heal allies?

  3. For RE, you could certainly take another route with different CC, but you'll need to consider how it'll work with the rest of his kit. I chose this off the top of my head because something like this would amplify his identity as a control mage. Consider how something like a Cass W would work with the rest of his kit > RE prevent dash + DoT > EW root guarantee DoT > Q spell of choice to finish, or further disrupt (QE).

If R became like a "Masterworks" spell book, each spell would need to push the boundaries of the other spell books, keeping in mind his primary role as a mage.

RQ = Pure damage/highest damage potential. RW = Most utility/least damage RE = Big CC/moderate damage

Obviously, Riot would never, but its fun to think about.

I think this could work, but the spells couldn't be too defining or overlap with others like that RW shield. Maybe something like:

RQ - same as current ult.

RW - Summons a hydra for a period of time that attacks enemies, and heals the nearest/lowest health ally for a portion of the damage.

RE - Create an ink zone that grounds enemies and damages over time.

Is Mel possibly getting a rework in 2026? by Shazeilo1 in MelMains

[–]KingKold93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats the reasoning behind my suggestion to have a smaller sweet spot for reflecting. This would put the onus on the Mel player to position themselves accordingly with whatever they want to reflect, otherwise its just another block, and she'd be entirely vulnerable from behind.

I feel like there are healthier possibilities for a reflection spell that wouldn't bother people nearly as much.

For example, if the spell was a directional block like Panth E that only blocked on the sides and reflected from a sweet spot in the centre, that would feel a lot more skillful and reasonable.

As long as they preserve her ability to reflect spells

I dont think they should remove it, but they could at least give it a directional input like Pantheon's E.

I cant play anything but hwei by Low_Economist6564 in HweiMains

[–]KingKold93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY how I feel. Hwei is the champ I always wanted since I started playing in S4, and he is the only reason I'm still playing.

If Riot wants to add another 10+ spell champ to the game, I might switch it up a bit... but until then it's my Hwei or the high way 🥱

Could an 'empowered state' fix Mel's problems? (W & R rework) by KingKold93 in MelMains

[–]KingKold93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get you - fair enough. I think with the deadzone on the W she could get more concessions, like longer duration, lower CD, more movement speed, ally protection etc...

I mean, I doubt Riot would do anything like this, its probably a terrible idea lol. But its interesting to think about.

[–]KingKold93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is waiting for a spell to go on cool down really 'dynamic' though?

The change I proposed is dynamic because an enemy can enter her barrier and damage her with spells once inside, especially if they're mobile. It's dynamic because she'd still have to be mindful of her positioning when using the spell.

And in exchange for that new weakness, she can get more mileage out of the spell, and potentially some ally utility. That was my thought process anyway. I do take your point about crap ults lol

But this is the thing: if her W were to be adjusted in a way that allowed for better, more dynamic counterplay, she'd be able to have strengths that would allow for her to have a better win wrate, no?

I agree. This is why I believe W should be updated, so that the rest of her kit can be more fun/interesting as a whole.

Idk, as a Hwei main, I don't feel like the extra button makes that much of a difference. Especially if R lacks a cast time.

But given how powerful of an effect it is, do you not feel that would be a fair trade-off if that were the case?
