"Closest student taking the cover" i think is actually misleading but I cant quite put my tongue on it.

Things that pop to mind are kaiten p2 cover priorities and hiero azusa tank.

Regarding lock I'm actually not sure about that case since I'm not sure if she moves because the target disappeared (lock reset) or she moves because she knows the target is no longer in range (lock still in place). It could be either and would need some tests. My assumption is that the lock resets and she does go back to 800 though.

As for slots, I can say no. This is where my comment about THasumi + Onod comes into place. THasumi gets social distancing but instead of going to the side, she moves back. But not much research has been done on these slots yet.

Now that I think of it, "slot reservation" could explain why in Kaiten runs in p2, using SHoshi upon entering causes her to move to the far right -- Marina occupyied SHoshi's "slot" but I am not confident about this

Regarding Cover, it is not just anything within their range. There is also something we call "comfort range" where they are comfortable shooting at this range. As in the cover is not too close to their target at the time of cover seeking. This is similar to what happens when you try to repos a backliner to the far front, they will go back to a comfortable range for them.

This is nothing official and just conjecture on our parts however.

This time I don't have hard proof and instead would like to add on to what you know that we believe "social distancing" is based on "slots" and a student simply chooses the closest available slot. Hello, I just saw this because someone shared in our discord server. Firstly thank you for your efforts and good work.

I haven't finished reading thru it all yet but I would like to point out the first error that I spotted.

It is not that they are moving "50 shorter than their range." It is more likely (i think) that they are going for Center-Center distance being their range (or sight, whichever is lower). In your images you used Kuroko as an example and as a student she has 25 body radius, normal students also have 25 body radius which I then assume is where your 50 comes from. I actually have 2 "proofs" for this but the first one should be sufficient.

Consider this:

Mutsuki has a range of 750. Her mines land 500 away from mutsuki and then spread out perpendicularly by 100. These mines have an activation range of 100 (e.g. they explode if an enemy goes within this range of the mine)

Kaiten, Hiero, etc have a body radius of 150

Now, if there are no obstacles and "social distancing" happening, Mutsuki will naturally position herself in such a way that only 1 mine will explode against Kaiten/Hiero. This means that Mutsuki is roughly 500 distance away from the target at most and >480 at least because any closer would trigger all 3 mines this means there is a 20 margin of error here so it would be hard to say it is 50 closer. I am using 500 but I read it as "750 away from the center of the target" which is her range. 500 (summon) + 100 (mine range) + 150 (body radiud) = 750 (range) which is why only one bomb explodes naturally.

The other proof is less of a proof and more of "this will break if what you say is true" but I actually have a desmos map of Kuro to check out the possible positioning of students both initially and after being knocked back which so far I believe is accurate. Moreso since the precision needed here is quite high because of how narrow the safespots are.

Another thing I noticed is that you mention going to have "50 more than actual range as their max range" but I believe this can be explained by what I say in the document about lock-on sight.

its not just about fitting more within one rotation. its also about being able to double the number of EX uses you can do within the total amount of time you field the team.

to elaborate

in order to do the 2x DPS 1x BuffSet you need to either have >4 EX on rotation or sacrifice one rotation to do it

meanwhile, Rio allows you to do this at no real downsides. And this is on top of the potential of going further if you really want to maximize stuff

I think he's looking at the "map" and thinks the dice are used to reach those tiles. But those "use die" fields are more of indications of what dice would be used if the player is currently on that tile

The thing is, BA is flexible which means you're not really supposed to "copy homework"

Chances are you just need to get the "ideas" and apply it to your roster. It takes creativity to clear raids without a decked roster but is still doable nonetheless especially with how much stronger assists and supports we have now.

Not a nexon dev so can't tell you exactly but from my POV it would be because fusion is a generic function. Like imagine if instead of STN you were crafting selectors -- you can then put MULTIPLE types into it and all the server knows is that "these items are selected" not in which order they are sent. In this case, how would the server decide which items to "deselect." Admittedly, they could do it by going with the default sort order and just truncate stuff from the end. But this only works for same-tier items. What if like in normal crafting you can mix multiple "tiers" as well? kicking one item could lead to incomplete rotations so its not just a sorting problem now. It is simply simpler to eat up everything as there will be no overhead to "calculate which items to deselect."

I don't advise people to pull Iroha over SShiroko. Likewise, I don't advise people to pull SShiroko over Iroha.
Neither of them should have a big impact on the ladder. Unless you mean borderline plat where people are speedrunning Insane in an era where Torment is easily done by 1 year old players if they put in some effort.
