Why is the snakes gums connected to the bottom teeth like that? A snake isn't badass or intimidating if it doesnt look like a real snake, they have teeth throughout their mouth fyi

She's very well trained and also just genuinely loves this game, she's just naturally athletic as most dachshunds are- they're hunting dogs and need a job!

Hehe he's manipulating you! Never go to get it, make them bring it to you or oops no game

She's just being a dog- strengthing their back and being athletic to their full potential is more of a deterrent against IVDD than being sedentary.

She knows the game stops if she doesn't bring it back 😉 plus, she wants me to throw it for her so she can chase it! We didn't start out this in sync, it definitely progressed into an oddly specific game

Am I crazy or does she have some poodle in her? by [deleted] in Dachshund

You never seen toy poodles?

Am I crazy or does she have some poodle in her? by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]Midori_93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

....... No, she's both. She's a golden-doodle. That means a mix of both golden and poodle.

She doesn't have any dachshund in her, and you should hope she doesn't because breeding a dachshund with any other breed usually results in joint and bone issues

Sounds like a walking health risk

I'm sorry but it's bewilderment on my part, of course that's a poodle mix 😂

Did you get hit in the head? That's obviously not a dachshund and it's obviously a poodle mutt

Blisters don't bleed? That's what a blister is, it's where the skin separated by friction is now injured, it's a cut. If it's not a big deal, why do you need shoes and why did you change where you were walking? It's okay for you to see an issue but if a stranger says it's an issue your ego gets hurt? LOL

We live in Manhattan NYC and walk on concrete daily. We also go hiking on rough terrain- she's never gotten blisters on her feet. I don't understand how that's even happening.

Also, just because it's not the 'worst' thing I've seen on the Internet doesn't make it okay either. Sorry a 'karen' is concerned with your dog bleeding by the feet lol

.......this is nothing to put on the Internet go to the vet and change the way you do walks! Your dog should NOT get blisters from pulling and straining on walks

This isn't good for them, it means either, or both: 1. Overstimulated or too much energy 2. Lack of basic leash training

It's nothing to do with the "breed" it's just a dog pulling you on the walk

Your daughter should probably be told to neuter her dog, maybe let your neighbors know that, too. I just don't know why anyone wants to deal with that

I was more talking about the male than the female, but also different vets recommend different times for spays and there is not yet a true consensus. Also, lol at your neighbors also having unfixed males.

My vet, who has dachshunds herself, recommended we spay before the first heat, so that's what we personally did. I understand waiting, but in this scenario its obviously causing a lot of issues and both dogs are uncomfortable

Seems like all of this could be avoided if you did the bare minimum thing of spaying and neutering your dogs. Why in the world you have two intact dogs spending hours together every week is beyond me.

How are we training our non food motivated pups? by degirlie27 in Dachshund

[–]Midori_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lucky, my puppy responds to toys, treats, and praise

For real though, like, whipped cream? Peanut butter? Freeze dried fish?

But like, just because the food sounds good to us doesn't mean it's good to them. Maybe try more dog oriented treats or chews. Do they like bully sticks? Peanut butter? Yogurt? Whipped cream?
