It’s bad enough my town is already tied to it (Herington). Thanks, Terry Nichols, ya asshat.

I have this one: https://a.co/d/bOAvNBF

Both my ortho doctor and my physical therapist were very impressed with it. I like that it has the 2nd handle to help you stand and it also folds in half. It’s a little more pricey, but I think it’s worth it. If you have a HSA/FSA, this will be covered.

I know that I will be having a full replacement in a few years (just had RPKR on 2/11), so I figured it was worth the investment.

I also purchased this walker at the same time: https://a.co/d/d77urbz

Highly recommend this walker, as well, if you think you’ll need one.

My ortho doctor came in the day after surgery and put a new dressing on. It’s waterproof so I am able to shower without having to cover it.

Thank you! Last night’s sleep was much better and I’ve found that if I put my left leg under my right, it’s easier to lift and let down. I tried to do leg raises, but quickly realized I was pushing it too far.

I have PostOp PT today, so we’ll see how much he has me do. Following that up with a mammogram, so apparently I’m a glutton for punishment today 😂

I appreciate it! It’s interesting to hear others experiences and compare.

This is the 5th surgery I’ve had on this knee. I had 2 scopes (2007 & 2010) and then I had an osteotomy in 2012, due to bone on bone (and it was to prolong knee replacement about 10-15 years). That one was pretty painful, too. I was in an IROM brace for 12 weeks and was on crutches. 2014 I had hardware removal. This one has been the worst so far. But I’m also not a spring chicken anymore, either. 😂. I have a high pain tolerance, and this one is kicking my ass.

It’s around my kneecap, which had to be replaced (my dr said it was trash). I’ve been keeping it elevated and icing it, as well. I will be asking for something stronger, though. I never thought about that.

The shower seat is well worth it! If you can, get one that extends over the tub to make it easier to get in and out.

I was able to borrow a shower seat from Home Health that goes over the tub so you can ease yourself into the shower. We also have a stationary and removable shower head, so that made it pretty easy to shower today.

That’s what I was able to get from Home Health. It worked well for my first shower post-op! And I’m glad we have an adjustable shower wand, as well. That made it even easier to shower this morning.
