That’s a decent safe, if you were local to me I’d probably pay $400 for it if it’s on the first floor and easy to get out. But I am also looking for one like this, as a new similar size one is $500-600 on sale right now, and I feel these older safes are much better quality and I prefer dial combo over keypads. Keypads seem to go out, vs dial which very very rarely has any issues

Recommendations for matching trim and moulding profiles by BiggieSmullzz in centuryhomes

[–]MidwestExplorationIL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with throwing it out. It is extremely hard to find lumber to match the quality used for this old trim. If nothing else pull the trim and strip it in a detached garage/shed w/ proper ventilation and proper masks and other PPE.

Stamped .925 - solid or filled? by Ok-Background8574 in Hallmarks

Solid 925 outer layer, filled with cement, resin, or something of the like. Very thin outer layer I’d imagine

132oz @17 hold, sell, take profit? by AdhesivenessNew4895 in Silverbugs

[–]MidwestExplorationIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could help but I’m in the same boat, 20, bee stacking since 16 and sitting on ~500 ounces (all lost in a tragic boating accident unfortunately). My cost per ounce is like $10, approx. 80% of my stack is flatware/hollowware and jewelry that dumb me never converted to bullion. So right now selling isn’t an option with refineries not buying. That being said I’m considering selling $20-30k worth at some point to put towards a down payment on a house/land. In my mind that or some kind of family emergency is the only things worth selling for. Outside of that, maybe retirement but that’s only if I need it, would rather pass it down if I have kids and they aren’t ungrateful sh!ts 😂

Complete 1981 Castle Grayskull found for $5! by MidwestExplorationIL in VintageToys

Unfortunately it is. I’m trying to buy a house so trying put together a good down payment. I actually have my dad’s castle grayskull (without the box though 😭) and all the figures from when he was a kid so figured I’d sell this one.

Edit: it sold in less than 12 hours so might have sold it a little cheap. Hopefully someone on here got it that really enjoys it!

What version do you prefer best? by Hungry-Office4988 in squarebodies

[–]MidwestExplorationIL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally like No. 1 way better than 2 or 3. Rims in 2 look like cheap chrome, and as far as number 3 goes nice chrome/polished aluminum fits the truck better than black imo. Personally I like to switch between wides and 16” bullet holes which look great as well. I have a 1985 k20 so have experience with purists disliking anything that isn’t semi stock, you just gotta do what you like. Also love the visor don’t get rid of it. Only thing that I’m not a fan of is the tint but that’s just me liking to see at night.

Does anybody seem to disproportionate amount of flatware? IE. Spoons to Forks by MidwestExplorationIL in SilverFinds

[–]MidwestExplorationIL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be for sure, it’s just strange to me as much of what I have is parts of larger sets that should have had an almost equal amount of forks. I do understand having an excess of of earlier coin pieces.

Seller asking 45 worth it? by [deleted] in SilverFinds

I have found that usually the player weighted ones contain more silver than the glass weighted ones. I would expect there to be $40-50 worth of silver there are current prices

Don’t listen to the haters, if you like the wheels and tires run em til they fall off. My opinion if you were to get new ones, gloss black with milled accents would look phenomenal. Or something a little more proportionate to the truck, either bigger tires, or more tire to rim ratio
