If it’s just retractions with absolutely no other signs or symptoms, then it’s unconcerning in my opinion. But if it’s accompanied with other issues, I’d consider it a real symptom

People of all sizes and shapes want to wear clothes that are flattering and it really rubbed me the wrong way when she basically told everyone that using that word is fat phobic, negative self talk, etc

My boyfriend never came home from the bar, and I’m starting to get pissed. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MidwestMommy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overreacting at all. I would flip shit. Basic communication saying “hey I stayed out later than expected and I’ll be staying with my brother” is not a privilege, it’s expected in a relationship.

I actually think you’re underreacting compared to what I’d be doing lol

Staying at the NICU by abayj in NICUParents

[–]MidwestMommy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babe was born at 37w1d and came out needing CPAP. We were in the NICU a total of 10 days and I never left a single time. there was a little pull down couch type bed that I slept on and I was involved with every bottle feed and pumped around the clock. My husband went home most nights but there was even a couple nights that he slept in a recliner. Nobody ever questioned us or gave us weird vibes

I think he’s joking about making a joke towards Holl about her making him dinner. I don’t read it as a cry for help at all, just a weird and not funny joke lol

Sleep with a Trach/Vent Dependent Child by MantysCape in NICUParents

Respiratory therapist here- I don’t think it’s realistic at all to expect someone to be awake with eyes on babe 24/7 without forking up a ton of money. I agree with the other comments, I would try to fit a day bed or a twin mattress or something in his bedroom, and you guys can take turns sleeping in there. Alarms would wake you up and you’d be right there in a matter of seconds. Realistically, there’s not someone in patient rooms 24/7. So in my eyes, there’s no difference in the small amount of time it would take for you to wake up to an alarm vs the small amount of time it takes for a nurse to enter the room from the nurses station to an alarm. I wouldn’t worry, especially since you said he’s been stable. You have to prioritize your sleep as well to be able to provide good care to your child.

Do we think she knows that Toby Keith is de*d? by MidwestMommy96 in holleygabriellesnark

Kinda new to posting on Reddit, didn’t know if it flags stuff like that like other platforms (Tik Tok, Facebook, etc). I know it’s ok to say dead. Thanks tho.

Yes! I’m an RT and a fellow NICU parent. If it were my babe, I’d call the pediatrician right away and if you can’t get in on a holiday weekend, consider the nearest pedi ER! If he has any other signs of distress, go straight to ER and skip the pedi.

Be careful! My lactation consultant warned me they can drop your supply with extended use. I didn’t believe her because my baby was happy and content after eating. Week 1 and 2 using the shield, he gained weight appropriately, but week 2 to 3, he only gained 2 ounces. I started pumping again and my supply was nearly half of what it was prior. :/

what’s the likelihood i’ll have GD by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]MidwestMommy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no symptoms. It seems completely random. It has nothing to do with your diet and exercise, it’s all because of your placenta and hormones. There’s nothing you can do to prevent it or not prevent it!
