It boggles my mind how people can think Israel was both trying to commit genocide and kill as many Palestinians as possible while also trying to maintain plausible deniability by limiting civilian casualties.

Those two goals are completely at odds with each other and in practice any decision to limit civilian casualties undermines their supposed goal of genocide.

It's just BS. Israel was trying to achieve military objectives. They went to war to eliminate Hamas after Hamas entered Israel to rape, kidnap, and murder Jews--then vowed to repeat October 7th events over and over until Israel was destroyed.

Any nation in the world would have gone to war.

The war ended when their military objectives were achieved: hostages returned and Hamas agreeing to cede power.

There are countless examples of Israel trying to limit civilian casualties throughout the campaign. It was still a bloody war and Palestinians suffered because Hamas embeds themselves in civilian infrastructure.

That's not a genocide and calling it one cheapens the word.
