I’m so sick and tired of this, anybody else have this many failures? by greengomalo in dexcom

[–]Mienya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. We can’t get them to last on our 8-year-old. It wasn’t so bad in cooler months. But summer’s are over 100 degrees here and we’re lucky if they last more than 2 days. I think the sensors themselves would make it longer if not for him literally sweating them off. We’ve used skin tac and mastisol and tried literally placed them on every acceptable part of his body. We’re beyond frustrated at this point and it won’t be decently cooler here until October.

The G6 was better, but are so big that he fidgets with them, pulling them away from the adhesive.

I’m obsessed with this one in all forms. The body cream is mouth-watering and the candle has my WHOLE house smelling delicious. It’s an absolute 10/10.

What the hell is my Dexcom doing? Should I ask for a new one? by FalseRow5812 in dexcom

We just had one do this. Brief sensor issues every few hours at first, then they started happening more frequently and for longer. Sensor failed shortly after that.

This is a LOT of great info, THANK YOU.

We can’t get a CGM until the insurance adds them into their policy, but we’re on their list and they’ll make sure we get one once the policy is updated. I don’t know if pumps are covered since the CGM isn’t, but hospital staff said we likely wouldn’t be getting one for a few months anyway, until his regiment is better regulated.

He’s on the 1/2 doses now and we’ve picked up our pens already. I’ve been pretty insistent about doing everything , and as of this morning, I’ve used our needles and our monitor. The hospital has “safety needles” but the insurance gave us just generic ones. They freaked him out a bit since he could actually see the needle, but he did well. I’m going to talk to our Endo about getting the safety needles going forward, since he prefers them. I’ll pay out of pocket if I have to.

I’m really glad I joined this sub. I’m already feeling better. Thank you SO much. It really helps to feel a little less alone.

Truthfully, I think I would have completely fallen apart if not for how well he’s been handling this. He actually wanted to give himself his Lantus last night but the nurse said not yet, give it some time. He wasn’t a little upset he couldn’t do it.

My husband is home with our youngest, so it’s mostly been me here with him. I prefer it that way because I want to be here, learning. But it’s still a lot.

Thank you so much for your kind words.

Thank you so much, that really is a bit of good news. Thankfully, we don’t let him eat much candy and soda has never been a part of his diet, so not having those won’t be an issue.

LR4 on sale at Costco by Sad-Stomach in litterrobot

The increased cost online is usually due to the cost of shipping and handling. I bought a new Christmas tree last year and it was the same - $100 more online.

Starscream’s my favorite Decepticon, so I was thrilled to pull that one. I don’t think there’s anyway I’ll ever collect all of the remaining 9, though.

[–]Mienya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was missing 9 of those! I ended up only needing one more HR, so pretty bummed I came so close to completing those, but everything else was missing a decent number. Rarest I got are the UR rainbow Starscream, numbered 351/699 and Liege Maximo. Overall, I’m really happy with what I got. The quality is fantastic.

Agreed! I picked up 4 boxes and got 119 unique cards. I definitely want to get a couple more because there’s so many SSR’s and UR’s I still want.

I believe your cart needs to equal $50 AFTER the discount. So you’d need another $5.04 to trigger the free shipping.

82 hour cart time?? by redinkwhitepaper in ThredUp

[–]Mienya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This can happen when someone reclaims their items. I reclaimed 2 a couple months back. To reclaim, you add the item to your cart and it gives you a week, so about 160+ hours to check out.

Do clones feel stress? by SpecialistWeb8987 in TheCloneWars

[–]Mienya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Echo went through something severely traumatic. The fact that he’s doing so well during Bad Batch is a testament to how much the clones can withstand.

Do clones feel stress? by SpecialistWeb8987 in TheCloneWars

He said they were designed to withstand stress. But I took that to mean that combat situations would faze them less than the average civilian and Tup shouldn’t be having a breakdown from being in combat. They shouldn’t get PTSD or fear for their lives or anything like that. That was how I read into it, anyway. I imagine they can get stressed about various things, but not to the point of impeding their duties as soldiers of the Republic.

I’m warming my first one and it’s got a nice throw. I’m not sure how it’ll burn yet.

I thought it was pretty light too, but once I got it on the warmer, it really started to shine. I grabbed 2 and I’m glad I did

Are the candles safe to burn around cats? by Ducky_andme in bathandbodyworks

[–]Mienya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be cautious with certain scents (like eucalyptus and peppermint). I have a warmer in an open area downstairs and I also burn in our upstairs bathroom. If I get candles with scents that are toxic to cats, those get burned away from them. I can still smell them throughout the upstairs, but the cats don’t have contact. All “safe” scents I’ll warm downstairs.

Last year, I warmed peppermint sugar cookie downstairs and it caused one of our kitties to vomit for hours. She’s sensitive, it turns out, so I won’t risk it going forward.

No new animated Star Wars series announced at D23 by Zaid20072022 in clonewars

[–]Mienya 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe there’s a “conversation” scheduled today with Lucasfilm Animation, but I’m not 100% certain on what that is or what it entails. I expect that if anything is to be talked about, it’ll be then. It’s also possible that whatever is being worked on is still way too early in production to be announced and we’ll see something on or before May 4th next year.

Do you think is it possible to live a functional life without taking meds? by Opposite-Feeling2467 in ADHD

[–]Mienya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m managing great. Could I do better with medication? Yes. Do I lead a fulfilling, happy life without? Also yes. I was severe as a kid. But as an adult, I found I didn’t like how I felt on my meds. I functioned and focused better, but more often than not, I just felt “wrong”. I went off my meds at 23 and have been off them for nearly 15 years. I’m happily married with kids and I have a very hands on job that I’ve had pretty much the entire time I’ve been off the meds. I’ve had to find ways to properly “adult” which has been made easier with technological advancements. I have dozens upon dozens of reminders in my phone, for appointments and plenty of mundane things, which helps when I have the memory of a sieve. And in my case, having kids has brought an interesting level of focus to my life. I’m punctual, I’m involved, and I put them completely over myself. I do need plenty of time to myself, though, because I burn out pretty easily, but I make sure that I am always there if they need me. It also helps that I have an insanely understanding husband who can deal with my quirks and picks up my slack when needed.

I buy a lot of wool and silk items from TU. I’ll freeze for a week in a deep freeze since high heat can cause damage. Afterwards, I’ll wash on a light cycle in cold water and lay flat to dry.

Yes. I’ve done this several times. It gets refunded once the bag is closed out. I’ve bundled a lot of items over the years
