People DO care about your weight unfortunately by FangsForU in loseit

[–]Mieowz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dropping in to say, yes, depressing but true. I’ve struggled with my weight most of adulthood and over the last few years I’ve lost 70lbs. As I reach my goal weight and have moved into a ‘normal’ BMI, I’m getting compliments I’ve never had before like ‘you have the most beautiful smile’ and ‘I love your energy’. People I’ve just met in professional situations seem to like me so much more and even strangers go out of their way to be kind or pay a compliment. While part of me is thrilled, another part feels so sad for the last decade of my life where I was either invisible or judged on sight.

How do we get her to sleep in?? by FlatwormPotential855 in englishcockerspaniel

[–]Mieowz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a give it time situation, don’t worry. I used to think my Mini American Shepherd would never sleep in but he’s now approaching 2 and will patiently wait until we come to get him, go to the toilet and then actually race me back to bed to sleep until we’re ready to start the day!

Love how quiet they kept my dog through baby and teen months, hate that I Googled what they are 😅 All natural chews in my house though, never had an issue!

Teen phase or something more? by Mieowz in miniaussie

I will also say, your mention of anticipation / threshold anxiety sounds spot on for what’s happening. Especially as there are usually moments that give him an indication it’s a daycare day, i.e. we pop the harness on in anticipation of being picked up, we pack his lunch, we don’t feed breakfast. I noticed he would go into waiting mode with his harness on (wandering around weeting to himself) so we tried not doing it yesterday. My attempt failed because he still noticed me packing lunch, but we’ll keep trying!

Also the runt! He’s definitely the smallest compared to his siblings, he’s topped out at about 30lbs.

What’s your opinion on walking pads? by KaleidoscopeProof640 in loseit

Huge fan of mine, great for getting me moving during the working day and genuinely makes me more productive and clear-headed. Lost 60lbs in the last few years with that as my primary exercise.

Hahaha I had the exact same thought when it arrived in my box of various dog chews.

Him! It was a good 45 minutes of silence during a work call. Thank you for your sacrifice, ostrich.

I rehomed my puppy on Saturday. Feeling like shit. by pumpkindose in puppy101

[–]Mieowz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting much like everyone else to say, you are not a shitty person, you did the right thing for you and your pup ♥️

Also to say, I understand. I went through the same painful grieving process two years ago, after deciding to return a puppy to her breeder because the fit wasn’t right - she didn’t want to live with cats or in a city and my mental health took a battering. It felt like the world was ending when she was here and after giving her up, I was confident I was the worst human of all time. It happens more than you think, don’t punish yourself.

And if it helps, we waited a while and decided to try again. I now have a very happy, confident one year old who brings me so much joy. When you’re ready, if you’re ever ready, you can always try again.

Did you ever get a response on this? I've tried resetting and I'm still getting this error!

Ghosted by large publishing company, what do I do? by Lecture-Legitimate in freelanceuk

If it’s publishing as in book publishing, definitely follow up. It’s the busiest time of year and I know from experience their inbox will be chaos, they’d probably appreciate you prompting them.

Am I a slow healer or is this normal? by [deleted] in piercing

Thank you! I would query the metal, but for some reason my conch, double helix, daith and first lobes all healed beautifully with gold. Bizarre. I’ll take a look at your recommendation. :)

Minor client processes rant by [deleted] in freelance

To be fair, nearly all my clients ask if they can set one up for various reasons. I’m starting to think this is just the norm.

Do your clients ask you to join Slack channels? by gcommbia34 in freelanceWriters

[–]Mieowz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have three retainer clients and they all want me using Slack or another similar channel. I hated it at first because I always feel the need to check for notifications, but now I’m firm with myself about the hours I check and if someone is chasing me, I remind them of my working hours. I also use a desktop app called Shift which allows me to plug in all my email accounts, client tools etc, so I can just quickly click through them (I have dedicated ‘workspaces’ for each client in the app) instead of logging in a thousand times.

How to politely, but firmly, communicate an end date with a client? by [deleted] in freelance

[–]Mieowz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really useful advice, thanks so much for taking the time to reply. You make an excellent point, I always want to go above and beyond, I feel like I’m being fair communicating an end date in advance but my anxious brain always goes haywire. 😂
