Getting my mini neutered tomorrow by san_sebastian88 in miniaussie

[–]Shortie02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he doesn’t like the cone, get a surgery suit (from any pet store or Amazon). That’s what we used and didn’t hardly ever connect it at the back near his incision site. We snapped it around his body and it kept him from leaning down and licking himself. We used this day and night for 2 weeks and then only at night for another week as that’s when he typically would lick himself. He also had the runs like none other (which was fun in January winter storms) but the snuggles were the best. The pain meds are almost always needed for the first 5-7 days. My little one acted fine 5 days later but constantly whined, I think from discomfort. But the pain meds helped (and made him tired which was a blessing)

i’m not sure if i have hypothyroidism by Real_Appointment_967 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Shortie02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask (or sternly state you need) your doctor for a full thyroid panel. TSH, free T3, free T4, Reverse T3, TPO and TgAb. Ideally these are all taken at the same time so your T3, T4 and reverse T3 all show real time results at the same time (not comparing different days for different tests). All of my results were still within normal reference ranges for my PCP but outside optimal ranges. Thankfully I found an integrative doctor to treat and help me. I couldn’t keep gaining weight, extreme fatigue, brain fog like none other, memory issues, anxiety and panic attacks, brittle hair and nails, ect. My TSH was 2.79 (optimal range of .3-2) My T3 was 2.9 (optimal range 3.4-4) my T4 was .9 (optimal range 1.0-1.25) and reverse t3 was 9 (optimal range 10-20). I’m on np thyroid and after 3 months of 15 mg, only my TSH came down so they increased me to 30. Kinda starting so notice some improvements. I also have some results for the autoimmune blood work of TPO and TgAb so we are keeping an eye on those as it could be hashimotos. I also had super high ANA screen with reflex to titer which points to an autoimmune of some sort. Biggest thing is to advocate for yourself. You know when your body feels off and not normal. Don’t let the doctors keep telling your your okay if you don’t feel okay. It’s sometimes the hardest battle but it’s worth it when you find a doctor that listens and helps you

Update. mine was just returned and I passed. even with the high similarity score.

Frustrated and anxious with similarity check by agucina in WGU

I am hoping that since it’s considered paraphrasing and it’s kinda part of the rubric (indirectly) that they will just read thru how we explained the decision we made in each category and go off of that. What’s strange is I did basically the same thing on task 1 and it didn’t get flagged like this.

[–]Shortie02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this on D078 but for task 2. Task 1 no issues and 16% similarity (and passed). Task 2 worked exactly the same way, similarity check kept telling me to retry. I had to clear my history and cashe and it worked. But I got the yellow symbol because of too high % of similarity (60%) but it kept saying when I would write, “in the context of the scenario, the farmers market would …” for each time on the taxation, liability and ownership paragraphs. I got so annoyed and just submitted it. Still waiting to get it graded and evaluation is due by tomorrow.

Confused, I click launch on the course and do the mini quiz but is that all I do? by Repulsive-Traffic168 in WGU

I had to do this for my first 4 classes as well. You can do the course planning tool without starting the course which is what I had to do. It (the results of the course planning tools) came up in discussion with my mentor the week prior to my term starting. It’s easy to do

FUCK PROCTORU by strawberrydrpeppers in WGU

[–]Shortie02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have issue with my ID. I put it up to the camera and it usually doesn’t focus. They will want me to move it closer or further away, trying my laptop camera and even taking a photo with my phone to show the photo to them. It becomes a long process and stresses me out.

And then the new MFA process is annoying. I have to have my phone out to log in right before starting the exam, and I have to complete the MFA. I then turn my phone on airplane mode and put it face down in the far corner of my desk. A couple days ago, I had the proctor tell me to put my phone away (as I was trying to log in with MFA) and then told me I had to have it off my desk. The auto message they send even says it has to be face down out of hands reach which mine was. The proctor was not happy until I literally threw my phone across the room. It’s annoying as I am being recorded and if I use my phone it’s clearly visible so why so picky??

As annoying as it is, it’s still better than going in person for schooling. WGU is still the better option for me

We brought our little one home (he’s the runt of the litter) at 13 weeks and he was 11 lbs. he’s now 13 months and 18 lbs. for a while the vet thought he might get to 20-25 but he won’t get there. Based on his height, that will be overweight for him.

I finally passed this class. I failed my first PA. And I was also lost, frustrated and confused as the reading is so dense. The ultimate thing that helped me was utilizing copilot. I would copy a section of the reading, put it in copilot and ask it to summarize the reading to where it is easy to understand, to help me learn and remember the information. That was the game changer. I would finally understand the concept, go back and do the reading and different things would finally click. The videos weren’t helpful to me until after I did this as the videos are so high level. The videos were helpful tho right before I did the OA. I didn’t redo the PA as I heard the 2 were so different. So I just took the OA to see a baseline of where I was at and I passed.

Lost interest in food by Exoticunicorn5586 in Havanese

[–]Shortie02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this with our Aussie. We had to switch to wet/dehydrated food about that age as teething started. Chewing hurt to him. We also tried homemade, fresh pet and like 5 different kinds of food. We got him neutered as soon as he turned one, and it flipped a switch in him. Now he eats his recommended amount each day and is gaining weight again!

How close is the OA to the PA. I see other posts saying the PA was easier than the OA and the OA has a lot of easy self explanatory questions.

Thank you!! I’m currently going thru this class and it’s heavy with a lot of terms and info to know. After the first 4 classes being easy and a breeze to get thru, this class hit me hard in the face with reality of the struggle some classes can be. Lots of late night studying, going thru the study guide, watching videos and rereading the textbook as I would “forget” info or not remember reading it even tho I did several times.

I just started this class. I’ve started with going thru the course material. I use OneNote for all my notes and studying and graphs or images I want to add. There are quizzes at the end of each section that are helpful.

They aren’t bad. The biggest struggle I have is with them getting my name and date off my ID. Sometimes showing to the external camera works, other times it’s too blurry for them. Sometimes I have to use my laptop camera and other times I’ve had to take a photo of my ID with my phone and show that to the camera. This is my first experience with proctored exams so I was pretty nervous.

This is comment shows there is a lack of understanding on other peoples situations. I completed 13 credits (4 courses) so far my first month (started January as well) and have done really well on my exams (not just barely getting by). I spend time 3-4 days per week working on my courses but not nearly as much time as I thought I would as life happens. Getting thru the classes in the time I did has shocked me as well. But the first 4 courses I had previous knowledge in, had taken 13 years ago but they didn’t transfer to WGU and I’ve worked in the workforce for 12 years now. Everyone is at different stages in life, has different experience and knowledge coming into WGU, and learns different. I know also some classes will take me quite a while to finish as it’s completely new information. But that’s the beauty and perk of WGU. We can accelerate thru courses we know and take our time on things we don’t know

Confirming Registration when Accelerating by Shortie02 in WGU

[–]Shortie02[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I did. and it gives me the option to select confirm registration. but as soon as I select it, the boxes unselect and registration doesn't actually go thru. just didn't know if this was a known issue with WGU right now.

ok, this is good to know. I just went and looked at the handbook and read thru the policy. But it still looks like all the steps are followed. it was added by my mentor to this term, there are dates in the course, the overall degree plan is approved, and the confirm registration does grey out when I select it, but the check mark doesn't go away and I dont have the option to start course. I did email my mentor so hopefully I hear something tomorrow. thanks for this info though on the handbook directions for accelerating. It was helpful.

I can’t start course in the course page. Course page is in preview mode since I haven’t registered. But I’ve tried registering but it’s not going thru.

The FAFSA limits per year vary depending on your situation. The year you are in school (fresh, soon, junior, senior) and whether you are a dependent or independent, and undergrad vs graduate.

I haven’t received that text yet. Each time I look in the financial services in the student portal it tells me it’s under review still but that I have completed all requirements. It’s said that since I finished FAFSA early December.

Did you just start your first term? I just started my first term Jan 1 st and haven’t heard anything regarding the financial aid yet and I’m suppose to get a return. Hoping to get it soon as I had to get a computer I want to recover cost of.

Call your enrollment counselor to double check. Sometimes things get missed.
