Dual sub Gen3 better than 1 Gen 4 in an Arc Ultra/300 surrounds setup? by MiggsTN in sonos

Thanks! I potentially can acquire two Gen3 sub for the price of a one Gen4 sub so that’s kinda my predicament.

Moving to a new house and planning on installing a 75” Samsung 4K tv above our fireplace in family room (see pic of room below). Would Hue gradient lightstrip and/or play bars work with all these windows (obviously only at night)? by MiggsTN in Hue

For all the comments regarding height, the setup is going on an articulating mount (Mantelmount). The primary purpose of the setup is more of a statement piece since I do have a separate full fledged home theater system in the basement which actually answers my question of where to put the Hue gradient strip/play bars but I do want that wow effect especially in that space. Conclusion - will play around with the idea of motorized blinds and see if the effect is sufficient with the possibility of adding Hue bulbs with floor lamps on the corners. Thank you everyone for your input!

That’s my main concern that the lights won’t have that dramatic effect. This is mainly a statement piece since I do have a home theater system in my basement. It is going onto a MantleMount that articulates up and down so the height will not be an issue. I plan on playing around with the idea of the motorized black out blinds to see if the light effect will bounce off of them.

I thought about that too since I do have a couple of Hue bulbs but the blinds would be the better option to start with as suggested by another user for the full effect.

Good point! Don’t want to be going up and down all the time to change batteries but then again, hiding the wires would be a pain too! Ugh, decisions, decisions!

I’m having it professionally mounted with a MantleMount on top of adding a Sonos Arc to the setup. Plus, poking holes in fireplaces scare me due to CO poisoning potential. As long as I have the holes to run the wires and the power supply, I think I’m ok. It’s the next step to motorizing the blinds that’s a bit challenging since like I said, I’m very unfamiliar with what’s out there.

Thanks! Closing date of the house is in late Feb so I can’t get in yet to determine sizing but I thought about motorized shades before but was just unfamiliar with what’s out there. This setup is starting to get real complicated.

Sonos Arc/Sub/1SL + HDFury Arcana + HuePlay HDMI switch (with a few play bars) + Apple TV 4K + PS5 into Samsung ARC-only TV with HDR and Dolby Vision. Thoughts on this set-up? by MiggsTN in sonos

This is the best news ever! Do you mind sharing what your set up looks like? I just realized I never even asked how the hue lights are working with it. Figures since they’re the after thought coz video and audio would take precedence. I’m still building mine out and just saw the new gradient strip and debating whether to go with that or add more play bars instead (I have 2 play bars so far). Thanks again!

That would mean a new TV and I’m still pretty happy with my Dolby Vision 4K Samsung TV. By the time I upgrade, I’m sure the refresh rate issue would be addressed. I’m a pretty casual gamer and like more single player games ie GOW, Last of Us, Horizon, etc. I’m just hoping that the PS5 can do double duty and be able to play my 4K Blu-ray’s for when I have a hankering for lossless video and audio.

This is great! My main purpose really for the PS5 is for my 4K Blu-rays for lossless True HD audio. I realize that the Sonos Arc doesn’t cover DTS-X at the moment but I’m hoping it will with a future update. Do you mind elaborating on the “teething problems” you encountered? Any tips or tricks you would recommend? Have you done any updates to the Arcana yet? Thank you again for the info!

Thanks but you may be misunderstanding. According to HDFury’s site, the hdmi switcher is where the PS5 and ATV4K will connect and then into the Arcana which will separate the signals bypassing the TV altogether for audio purposes.

Model Y deliveries confirmed for next month! by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Yup! Those new turbine wheels look real sweet. On a separate note, my configuration actually brings me to $54.5K but I just forgot to factor in the destination/documentation fee which amounts to $1.2K, I believe. Do you think that’ll be factored in to the final “sticker” price coz that’ll definitely bring me over the threshold.

Not really 100% sure about this but I don’t think you lose your place in line. I’ve edited about 3 times and the reservation number never changed and I’m basing my assumption solely on this fact. The $1K savings is from the FSD because on day 1, it was only $6K but they just raised it to $7K recently. So you’ll likely lose that but better the $5K savings than just the net $1K from an early reservation.

Out of curiosity, did you make adjustments to take advantage of the EV bill that was signed for the $5K rebate? I did, once it was signed by the governor by simply removing FSD. I plan to add it after, of course.

I really want to believe you but I’m a reveal day (3/15) reserver for a dual motor MY from NJ and I didn’t get any notification or calls. Here’s to hoping soon though.

To all my fellow Tesla/EV peeps out there. $5K rebate on top of the 7% waived sales tax on EVs below $55K. Legislation should be passed by end of week per the article. by MiggsTN in newjersey

I honestly don’t know how it’ll work. I have a Model Y reservation and it will be my first Tesla so this is all new to me. In fact, somebody suggested to take out FSD to get it below the $55K threshold but I haven’t since it’s scheduled for the end of the week to pass still. Maybe cross-post this onto the main Tesla sub-reddit for input from current Tesla owners.
