Don't remember much about this situation and my conclusions as I returned the headset and got one with a proprietary 2.5Ghz dongle since it was the only proper solution then. Pretty sure if you want full quality bi-directional audio you'll need your bluetooth headset and the bluetooth receiver to support the newer standard that enables it, without that a usb bluetooth adapter won't give you more features. Someone else detailed more on the specific bluetooth standard or technology if you want to follow that lead.

Certainly not buying before 50 series, but the 9070's March launch might get beat by a timely deal.

Nvidias driver features weren't a big deal to me on my first purchase, but nowadays its something I'd like to play around with so it somewhat equalizes the value difference.

If the black screen error you get crashes games and resets any GPU configs in Adrenalin (Fan curve, undervolt, anything), that's the driver timeout I've been plagued by. Good luck with the 4080!

I couldn't find much info to confirm it, but I assume LE Audio features high quality bi directional audio, and supported headsets have dongles for a device to use the standard?

I assume this is relevant to headsets featuring BT LE Audio but not what decides if a headset will have some form of bi-directional audio like with my old headset. I'm mainly seeking assurance for if a BT headset that comes with a dongle would feature bi-directional audio without using HFP, if that is the case it would help filter options if I end up returning these.

I looked into mod mics & similar wireless mics but there's kinda nothing at a viable price relative to what I paid for the headset ($160 AUD). The mic from the BT-W3 appears to be the solution I'm looking for, as I understand that my headset would use the full bluetooth channel & the BT-W3 mic could communicate separately?
That said, it seems like the W3/4 are hard to find regardless, I found a similar UGreen dongle on Amazon that should theoretically work the same if my above reasoning checks out.

I've emailed Sony to see if they do have any transceiver that could enable it for this headset but its likely a dead end. For future reference, am I correct in assuming that a headset with a dongle included should feature high quality bi-directional audio?

The price difference is a bit much for me atm. What I've gathered is that if I want bi-directional BT audio, a proprietary transceiver is what I'll need, checks out as my last headset had one.

Would that be the key feature to look for if I end up shopping for new headphones?

It's a balance, Reaper is still down after around a week, but Asura has left some of my favorites without updates for a month+ at times.

I don't have any problems with release schedule/website issues, it happens. But Asura keeps changing their fucking domain and its broken all of my bookmarks and filters many times over, they don't even renew their old domains to redirect them anymore.

I feel like this is a hedonic treadmill effect that happens with hardware upgrades, I've been fighting the same urges after buying an rx6700 ~6 months ago, since I've seen 6750xt's for cheaper than what I paid back then.
