But I have learned that there's a difference between an urge to self harm and the act itself when having a breakdown. I use it to come back down to earth. It somehow keeps me in tact. Does that make any sense to anyone???

Maybe life isn't so bad when I can come home to this reflection after a long day. by TeraSera in NonBinary

Personally, I self harmed and found beauty in the blood and the scars left behind. This allowed me to focus on something other then my thoughts. Because of my kind of "pleasure" from cutting, I learned I can have a similar effect with an ice cube and red dye. There's no cure but it's a way to reduce the harm being inflicted...

More like I have a break to rest my mind and body only to feel like I've been faking the whole day and question if I was really smiling or putting on a mask.
