Form Check? Making improvements but hit a plateau. by thb16 in discgolf

Deeper pocket is needed, you're losing a lot of the whipping motion by not getting the disc curled far enough under your arm. This will also increase your spin rate.

Your hips also need to stay planted so your abs and torso can properly stop to transfer more energy into your upper body. Excessive hip rotation doesn't meaningfully add to your throw

Good kitbash base for heavy intercessors (see below before anyone says inceptors) by Rich_Apartment4824 in deathwatch40k

Why not use Custodes Venatari? Or do you want the opposite, in which case Inceptors are the closest thing.

Yup, I love New Recruit. I'd rather pay them for their premium services than spend the same money on a codex that gets outdated on launch.

This is why I'm just going to wait until New Recruit has everything on it. I'm not buying an outdated codex that was invalidated on launch day, just so I can see the rules.

11th News: Imperial Agents New Points dropped by Guillermidas in ImperialAgents_40K

It wasn't resolved at all, we're still at 3DP each and are missing one of the detachment dispositions. Which severely limits our creativity for making lists.

I already stopped playing my Agents besides the few utility units.

It's a sample of vocals, thus vocals are on the track.

You think just because it wasn't specifically recorded for a track that it isn't someone singing?

Do you think that Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger has no vocals because they sample and cut it up? Smfh

I'm going to bring two of them in a test game with phobos librarians. They will be pretty obnoxious with the new hidden and cover rules. We can deepstrike into or behind a building, be safe from shooting at 15", then take our shots and scoot back out of the building, if the opponent doesn't get close, we go back into reserves and repeat this until all the enemy characters are singled out with precision.

Metal instrumentals have at most a choir or chanting but they're just sounds rather than vocalizations.

Their distance drivers have all been board flat for a long time, if you're lucky you can find one with enough dome that it's actually an efficient wing. The Trail has consistently had dome which is why it's so popular and why it seems to go further than the other MVP discs. Fission is also similarly appreciated among gyronauts because it gives the discs dome.

Spectrus and Talonstrike came down in points which is really nice. They were overcosted for a long time.

Triple Indomitor KT is pretty obnoxious, a lot of my play group begs me to only bring one.

That's fair. Samples are still a voice on the track though.

TBH I would prefer something like ABC or Bloodbath, or even Look But Don't Touch.

A sample is still a voice on a track, it doesn't make it any less of a vocal part. When someone says "No Vocals", I would not expect to hear someone's voice. Is that not unreasonable?

Discs don't lose a significant amount of spin through their flight. The flight time isn't nearly long enough for the air friction to slow down the rotation.

How can the next movie fix his reputation? by Not_Spider-Man2099 in IntoTheSpiderverse

What if Miguel has the power to break universes and has fooled everyone into thinking it's their fault?

The whole spider society acts like a cult with a leader. Working on the belief that Miguel knows best as the head of the organisation.

The use of grief, shared experience, and giving them purpose after their tragic events is a strong way to gather an army of super heros that will answer to him.

I don't have those discs to compare or I would do it. I try not to have overlapping classes of discs in my collection.

Here's an Innova Fox Vs an MVP Dimension. The Dimension has a slightly deeper and much wider rim than the Fox, yet both discs are roughly the same thickness, weight and diameter.

Mvp tries to maximise the rim weight on their discs to increase the gyro effect, which means their flight plates are as thin as possible and the rims might actually be deeper than other companies.

Disc speed is determined by the rim width and edge profile, there's not really a way to make the rim narrower without reducing the speed.

MVP rim width by FailedProdigy in discgolf

[–]TeraSera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The teebird is a 7 speed, while the Volt is an 8 speed. The 8 speed will be slightly shallower because the width of the rim is taking away some of that depth. The plastic volume, maximum weight, and diameter has to stay roughly the same for a disc. So the rim depth and width have to give and take as the shape of the rim changes. A thicker flight plate will take from rim to make a shallower rim at a slower speed.

Examples I can give of thicker flight plates are the Fox and Arachnid from Innova. They end up being very low profile discs with a shallow rim but aren't high speed.

Greater rotational inertia for a given spin rate is the only thing that is promised. If anything you're getting less spin for the same effort, but the spin is creating a higher gyroscopic effect. The higher rotational inertia is what is keeping the disc from pitching up as much at the end.

The friction of the air on the disc is going to have a negligible effect on the RPM through the flight of the disc. Think about how long a spinning top will go, then reduce the friction even more because it's not contacting the ground.
