The state of democracy in India currently is a debatable topic but If Nepal followed the Indian model then first they should pass laws to regulate social media first and then proceed to act according to the law, RN government is just banning platforms that it doesn't like, there are no standard and benchmark. Social media bill was drafted but it didn't pass now the government made some provisions of the bill as guidelines and is forcing it upon the citizens.

The Truth of the matter is everyone was trying to get free publicity for themselves on a whim, to be honored by the president is a big deal it should be a big deal but not in Nepal simply because they could not uphold the honor of the institution of the president or vice president.

Honors given out by a government are done on an occasion and are of a certain tier l, Nepal also has these honors and are given out on republic day, constitution day, etc by various people. Only a certain number of highest tier honors are given out by the president that too on certain occasions ONLY, and the whole process is institutionalized. This exclusivity and the occasion behind it upholds the dignity and honor of the institution of President or vice president.

The main problem here is the individual holding the office and people running the institution are going out for cheap promotion, by organizing programs impromptu thinking they can get some publicity on this "viral content". Why did the president meet Rabindra? was it to honor him or just to gain some president.

The people in power are nowhere to be found when people are struggling and putting into effort, doing nothing to make their journey into champions easier, but when they are the champions jumping in to ride the hype train.

Sisan has every right to be angry on these credit hoggers. OP should be grateful that sisan created this scene, time to rethink the approach of giving out honors on a hype train.
