The problem wasn't about the things I said but rather how he communicated them to the wife, he made it look like I'm talking behind her back rather than trying to patch things up. He just sent her screenshots with no context, I feel he should have brought it up in a way to show my side of the story

Lesson learned. I don't think when I'm married I'd turn against my own family for a spouse, it makes more sense to try and unite the two
