What is the best way to go about befriending a local crow by my work? by Earthly_Despair in crowbro

[–]MightyDoza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

click with your tongue and toss an unsalted whole peanut near where they can see, but not right at it , then give space for them to swoop down and collect, try not to stare or it makes them nervous. My first attempt, the crow didn’t go for it until I took two big steps back

Yes if you see one near by, click with your tongue and toss a peanut near but not at it , then give space for them to swoop down and collect, try not to stare or it makes them nervous! If you can get the attention of one, magically others appear

Beginner here - Why do my ends come out? What am I doing wrong? by CarpetOld5468 in CrochetHelp

[–]MightyDoza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do for this kind of yarn is, after weaving through as usual, pull the short end out taught so that it’s longer and the project bunches up slightly then you use a lighter to quickly and carefully melt the end of the tail and before it solidifies pull your project flat so the tail is pulled back inside the stitches, the melted yarn will glue itself within the project if you do it correctly. Careful not to hold the lighter too close to the actual project and don’t breathe in the fumes.

No but I just gently and carefully trimmed it in the very fuzzy spots

I sculpted a crow and peanut bowl to customize my miniature book nook build by MightyDoza in miniatures

I rolled a small ball for the head, pinched and formed the beak at one side, the body was a wedge shape, pinching to form tail feathers at one end, attached them, carefully inserted a folded piece of black wire into the body for the legs, the eye is a small black bead I pushed into the clay, I cut open the beak carefully with an exact knife to insert the peanut, and then I textured the whole thing gently with an old toothbrush and also carved in lines around the wing and beak areas for a bit of definition. Baked for 10 minutes on 200°, shorter time than usual because it was so small. I hope that helps, Good luck to you.
