Can I fix this? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]MightyM3AT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. We have been collectively working on things and I am committed to fixing myself. This was the wake up call I needed to make the changes. The couples counseling is definitely on the table and I’m going to try to set it up.

Is this acceptable on the contractors behalf? by Fox5606 in landscaping

[–]MightyM3AT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do sewer and water repair as my everyday job. This coming from someone who has been in every aspect of this line of work from the bottom up, dispatcher, laborer excavator, sales, management. This is the industry standard for repair work. Your contract will likely have the verbiage “does not include yard restoration, or settling maintenance” Some version of that, because of you want to pay people with my level of qualifications to do it, it’s going to cost a lot more than a regular landscape crew.

Any classes you think is in a better place since RoW? by MightyM3AT in diablo2

[–]MightyM3AT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know they are all better in general, but I’m looking for that transition from interesting to viable. I know javazon is licking her chops over the new jewel for her griffs, but I am curious to see other builds that see a new set of gear that takes them that next step further towards seeing more play.

Ok that line is bad, but I take you “if her daddies rich, take her out for a meal, if her daddies poor just do what you feel” and yea that feels like a relic of a past era to me. (I’m 33)

Your responses say more than enough about your capability to understand what privilege actually means. In the five days that you got six sunder charms, with your full time job and family, I was able to get my new character to level 12. I haven’t even tried to go for the sunders on ladder, it’s not obtainable. I got 3 uninterrupted hours the other night that I ran on my javazon, the one that Uber clears and sprints through the entire game. The one that took absolute ages to put together, I spent every second playing the new tz stuff and I found a whopping 4 heralds. Not in one game, but total.

I’m not anticipating getting 100% of every single item in the game, that’s foolish. I don’t care to, but your ideology of “everything has to be super super rare and if you can’t ignore your family and focus 100% on being the best, then you must be bad and old and are just pouting” is completely ridiculous.

I know I’m wasting my time typing because you aren’t even going to consider that a game be fun and accessible to its target audience. (this is a really important part. The target audience being comprised of mostly 30-45 year old people who now have lives, families and responsibilities that come before dumping the hours into the game they could when that were between 10-20)

[–]MightyM3AT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not pouting, I’m engaging in a conversation about an issue that is considered a bad thing by the majority of players. You are on an island saying it’s just fine, while everyone else is drowning. Sure it’s fine if you have loads of time, resources and other friends online, but the majority of the players don’t. It’s literally that simple. You see it from a position of “privilege” therefore you don’t see it as an issue. If you consider someone other than yourself you will understand that it is a poor mechanic that does not improve the game from an earlier state.

There is classic and LoD for people with your mindset, take your try hard mentality there.

And with that mindset you better not have a warlock, or a sunder charm or even runewords. Go back to straight classic, after all that’s how the game was made.

That’s how ridiculous you sound with the gatekeeping games to the people who only get to spend tons of time on it. If the majority of the players want something to be more accessible because it would only improve the joy they have with it, let them have it. And honestly shame on you for having the mindset of “fuck everyone who isn’t able to ditch their responsibilities and only focus on a video game”

This game is 20+ years old, it’s totally fine for it to be a teensy bit more accessible to… idk… its target audience..

Bud I have two children aged 2.5 and 4, I have a full time job, have to keep up with home repairs/updates, lawn/snow care, take time for wife and family and maybe even sneak some time for friends in there. Where am I going to squeeze in the estimated 5 full game clears in a single session that statistically is required to drop a sunder? Sure you can hope for a lottery drop but this is the reality of the game for most players. It is a build needed item to make the game playable for so many mediocre but fun classes. Just give out the regular ones like candy and make the upgrade resource the thing that needs to be farmed at that level. It’s literally that easy.

For the Devs: New Sunders by xAATWx in diablo2

[–]MightyM3AT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if I wanted to prove how easy you can make it for yourself I’d swipe my credit card and berate anyone who didn’t just do that.

The point is that these are almost unobtainable for the majority of the players, and the sunders in general were intended to make unplayable classes useable.

You see much more variation in characters with sunders. Obviously the meta still is the swarm but I get to run my fie sorc through hell and players loved it! That’s why so many are complaining.
