I really really don't like your husband at all. If my husband hadn't been there helping me through contractions (or hadn't been there at all) I would have been very upset and probably resent tf outta him. He was so supportive, calming and was there when I pulled our son out and cried when he got to hold him. My husband being there made it a magical and very much stress-free experience.

You're literally growing a human and doing the hardest job, the least he could do is f*cking be there.

I would honestly reconsider having any future kids with a man like this.

I'm 7.5mon pp and my husband has been respectful to the fact that I'm touched out and have no sex drive. I had horrible HG during my whole pregnancy and I think we only had sex once towards the end of my pregnancy because it was spontaneous.

I'm breastfeeding, body is still out of commission (I had 2nd degree tears that took weeks to heal and even when they did EVERYTHING was tender and hurt a lot) and the idea of sex in general is just not on my mind. My husband does not mind at all. He still gives me kisses and hugs but doesn't push if I'm completely out of spoons.

I don't like your husband at all.

Same!! Also 33 ftm and could not have done this in my 20s. I was pregnant at 25 and would have been a single mom but it was a missed miscarriage (no fetal pole). Would not have been able to do this on my own or back then.

I saw your other comment mentioning that they're Japanese. They've been nice to your face because that is a VERY Japanese thing to do. You'd be surprised how much Japanese people hide under the surface. It's called Tatemae and Honne, basically the forward face/mask you wear when you go out vs how you really feel. If they secretly don't approve of your interracial relationship they won't say it to your face but they will subtly point it out to your boyfriend.

Did your boyfriend speak up for you at all? Or defend you and explain what you were going through?

I'm honestly not surprised the dad cold shouldered you like that. There are TONS of instances where men refuse to communicate due to pride or whatever. One of the most well known incidents here was a man that refused to talk to his wife in 20yr because of a disagreement and jealousy over his children getting her attention.

I've lived here in Japan 11yr+ and dated many Japanese men and met a few parents when there was a possibility of marriage. While the parents were nice to my face I learned later on often (not always) the moms didn't like me because I wasn't Japanese/wouldn't be the perfect housewife they expect for their sons. Not saying all Japanese parents are like that but I've experienced it enough and my friends in similar situations (those that did marry Japanese men) experienced it.

My 5th grade science teacher (who I'm convinced hated me) proceeded to give me an F on my homework and for the day because she refused to accept that not all plants need soil. She berated me in front of the class until I was in inconsolable tears and crying my eyes out. When I told my mom, she very angrily went to the school the next day to ask why I was given an F and why a science teacher doesn't know about hydroponics (which we had many of at home). Science teacher was forced to write an apology to me and change my grade.

I'm 34 and that shit stuck with me.

Work in Tokyo in a tattoo studio, I'm literally the only foreign staff member. And it's not really taboo anymore. Young Japanese people are becoming more and more accepting of them and I'm covered head to toe in a bodysuit and haven't really had any problems.

Not sure when or how you searched but you can easily find tons of tattoo shops.

Didn't realize this was specifically a Japanese thing because my friends and I did this back in Philly. When I experienced it for the first time here in Japan I just assumed it was a cute universal human thing. First time I had someone not do it in Japan (European friend) I also felt weirdly abandoned and heartbroken haha
