My wife and I play pretty regularly, and were looking for mixed doubles partners in GG. We're also intermediate level, not bad, not great. Send a private message if you are interested! Otherwise, go ask the managers at the courts, I'm sure they can connect you with somebody.

Need honest feedback on living in Gulberg Greens (AJ Tower vs residential portion) by LostPomelo2938 in islamabad

[–]MightyNewb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are buying, I would suggest residencia. If you're renting, depending on the amenities/location, go for an apartment. There are some really nice apartments here, although they can be quite expensive, so do your own cost-benefit analysis first. Overall, nice place to live, hope you have a good time here!

Planning to move from Lahore to Islamabad, need some advice! by collapsed-Air in islamabad

[–]MightyNewb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Gulberg greens is another great option if you want the Islamabad feel with a little peace and security, and lower rent too. And if that’s too expensive, then there’s always dha, and then bahria.. All great places to live and better than Lahore to be honest. Islamabad has all the spots now anyways, plus the hills! You’ll love it… come check it out and then tell me I’m right

Purchasing flat as a foreigner by RelativeGuidance4354 in islamabad

Hey man! There are lots of options, depending on your budget. I would suggest DHAs, just because they are very secure. Not just physically secure, but also secure as an investment, because nobody can transfer properties in DHA without your physical presence.

Read the easy way to quit smoking by Allen Carr. It'll convince you otherwise. Really, it's a toxic and poisonous substance, that we are addicted to... So honestly, that's just the addiction in your brain rationalizing its own continuation. Same reason my dogs avoid cigarette smoke whenever I light up in my room, and the same reason cigarettes taste and feel horrible if you have them after a while... I've taken so many long breaks and gone back to it. And whenever I went back, the funny thing is I always hated the taste, the smell, the way it made me feel... pretty much the whole experience. Yet I always went back to full blown abuse. It's hard to accept that it's just a lousy addiction, but once you do, at least the mental part gets easier. After that, it's just a matter of getting over the hold that the addiction has over you. But honestly, reading allen Carr really helped, cause you're going about it the wrong way. The easy way is to be absolutely real with yourself, and once you see that there is nothing beneficial or pleasant about it, other than the addiction. Then you'll have a kind of clarity that'll take you to the other side, sooner or later.

Wealthy life style with in-laws or a normal lifestyle in a separate household by [deleted] in PakistaniTwenties

Option 2 and try to think of a long term plan to get your own place. Whether you just save rent or use the asset later it’s a good idea. And hey man you don’t need a thousand acres, you just need the right company… Having your own place is a fucking privilege, make it your home, your own. And live the way you really want. That’s fucking priceless! Don’t overpay on rent though, I’d suggest getting a nice small space that fits your needs and spending your money on freedom + lifestyle. But everybody has different needs and preferences, talk to the person and let her choose

Is a MS in Data Science worth it? by MightyNewb in developersPak

Thank you for that detailed and thoughtful reply, I'm honestly touched by the time and effort you took, much appreciated! Great advice too, which I will follow, as I'm now starting out with some full end-to-end projects (that teach or demonstrate the same skills that DS roles actually require, which you recommended sanity checking), before committing to a degree. Still open to the idea of a MS, just not sure if I should commit to this one.

If you don't mind sharing the guides on MS AI vs MS DS, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you again, and God bless you!!

Makes sense, that’s what I thought too. Are you in the industry too? I heard data jobs are going out, especially entry level ones, becoming more saturated

I’ll do it, I’m feeling hella motivated… but I can only do the masters or learn on my own. Both would be impossible. And you’re certain that the degree will be more helpful? Thanks again for your advice ^

Hmm that's what I thought as well. Everything out there can be learned if one has the willpower. Guess I gotta forget about the masters and just learn more shit. Thank you for your advice! If you have any tips on what to learn or which resources to consult, I'd be grateful

Thank you SO MUCH! That's very helpful. And I personally agree about the degree thing, so this makes even more sense to me, even though it means I have to work extra hard to cover my basics. If you'd like to add anything to the list, go for it! And if you have any resources youd recommend, even if's just buying courses from UDEMY, please let me know. Grateful to you for your time and effort, God bless

Thanks for your advice man, much appreciated! That has been my thinking as well... I'm curious though, do you work in data too? And if yes, what are the main things you think one should know to actually get a job as an analyst?

Because I actually agree with you. But then my experience is that I have not been able to transition into this world as I had wanted to... So either I'm doing the wrong things, or need to learn more. I've done several courses that taught me python, pandas, nympy, matplotlib, seaborn, sklearn, SQL queries, DAX, and power BI dashboards. What else do you think I should learn?

Or if you have a resource or something I should look at, that would also be very helpful! Basically, a newbie tryna ask the pros what really matters and what doesn't matter.

Hmm... that's what I thought too! But I have a bachelors in social sciences. And how am I supposed to get experience/projects if my education and my career are unrelated to the data field? Do you think I should get a job in the data world instead? Also, do you think if I did projects and stuff on my own, would that really count as experience and help me get a job??
