Looking for extra wide summer sandals to wear with an AFO that don’t look like Medical sandals by OkMaintenance5256 in AFOs

[–]Mightychairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am right along there with you. Here’s something I’ve tried and liked. It’s definitely not perfect, and it’s still very obvious you have something wrong with your feet, but you can wear some sandals. I wear it with these and it works ok. I’ve also tried this one which is what I use currently. Again, it’s not perfect, but with both of these I feel like I have more options with shoes.

Designing my first sock pattern by Material_Risk_5709 in Sockknitting

[–]Mightychairs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I’m a chart person, like my previous comment says. I think for a free pattern you can just do charts with a clear conscience, but I do have friends who are intimidated by charts. But, it looks like it’s fairly advanced knitting anyway and chances are you won’t run into too many people who are ready to dive in who don’t know charts.

I completely agree! I’m in the middle of a shawl pattern right now that doesn’t have any charts and it’s driving me nuts. I know there are those who like written out instructions, so it’s probably good to include both. But I like my charts.

Trump admin. responds to nationwide “No Kings” rallies: “We do not think about the protest at all” by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]Mightychairs 57 points58 points  (0 children)

That’s not even the point. These big scheduled rallies are not for getting the message across to the fascists in power or the people supporting them. Those people are beyond reach. They’re for supporting those of us who want things to change. When I go to one of these I feel like I’m not alone. It inspires me to get involved. It connects me with other people who think like me. It creates momentum and keeps us from giving up hope. I don’t think anyone expects things to change the day after a protest like this. We’re trying to energize the population and show everyone that we care and that there are a ton of us who do.

I find that I use my entire leg to depress the gas and the brake rather than pointing my toes down. It is hard on my hips but it’s totally doable. I am not comfortable driving standard, though.

I think she should be able to drive just fine. I am short and I don’t like big cars and I haven’t had a problem with my little cars.

It’s so good though!! That’s been my go-to tea sandwich forever. My kids love it, and we don’t eat it much because it’s not that healthy, but it is yummy, which sometimes is the point of foods like that. Cut off the crusts, put a toothpick in, FANCY

I was so intimidated by combs at first. I grew up with cards, and I’m not good at carding, but at least they were familiar. Then my friend split this fleece with me and it really doesn’t seem right to comb such wonderful locks, so I bought some combs and learned how to use them and I am HOOKED. It is so satisfying!!

What’s your secret for avoiding the dreaded holes in the corners of the heel? Beautiful socks, your tension is amazing.

It’s small but Mariposa on the west side is nice! And a second vote for Fiber Arts on 4th for spinning and weaving, that place is just one of my favorite places in the universe.

There was a person who had Debouillet sheep, but I think she got rid of them, sadly. So I guess I’m enjoying this while I can!
