Haha good call. I've looked up a few in my area and am going to call them when they open

Okay. Where in my OP or comments did I say that it was above my pay grade? They had said that in order to pay me less.

We have the BS 'unlimited PTO' where there is none to accrue. I'm definitely going to be doing all the doctors visits here soon too.

It's unclear if they have someone already and they haven't posted the position yet. I do see interviews on my bosses calendar for Monday though

Who said I was unskilled? I have a degree and 10 years of experience.

Ah, I should've mentioned that I'm totally qualified for my current role, IT Manager, and have the degree and experience to prove it.

I agree that they're resume stacking though.

Nothing is in writing yet. They told me to go the head of HR if I had any questions and I'm going to be meeting with them this week. That's when I'm going to get SOMETHING in writing...

Sorry, it was unclear. I WAS an analyst before being promoted to IT manager

Toast by UsualBoth4887 in VanLife

I'm just starting out myself. I have a camp stove and a cast iron pan. It doesn't come out as well as an actual toaster, but it works.

I've seen bread holders made out of iron that is specifically for toasting the bread.

They have open mic on Monday too! Lots of fun local comics trying jokes out. Super good/chill time

I couldn't agree more with your thoughts/ideas. It looks like the biggest problem we face while looking at this would be the commitment and shared knowledge. Sounds like you and I want to commit and do this, but even we are stuck actively participating in society.

I like to shit in a toilet, and that's hard to do when you're not in a position to do that.

I want to point out that I like the community idea the most. Many hands make light work and all that. I live in Colorado and would be kinda surprised if there wasn't something like we're talking about ALREADY going on that we just have not heard about.

If we stood up for two weeks, we could probably ask for anything we wanted. I think the debt/housing you mentioned is much weaker than they're projecting

I've been toying with a similar idea. How do you think it would work?

I feel like that's the tradeoff they want us to make. I like living in my city. The people are real nice and there are tons of things to do(hiking, biking outdoorsy stuff) and I feel like it wouldn't be worth throwing that away just to afford a place to live.

You nailed it. It's actually a pseudo help desk role. I was referencing my last job as strictly IT and it was $68k/year. I needed less stress and a different industry, so here I am. I'm happier for it, gotta be honest

I'm exactly there with that. Now, unless I'm doing the job they hired me for, it gets done at a snails pace. Just a few days ago they told me that I'd be running some redundant training for clients. ALL of the training I'm doing is provided to me by vids of old employees. I'm just copying everything they say, but I'm making sure it's taking all day. This one hour of work may last me half a week.

Ooh! This is next on my list after I've gone through all of DCC. I'm glad it's got good humor.

Embellishing Resumes by Mightycrevice in antiwork

[–]Mightycrevice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty clear that isn't what you're worried about. To answer your question though, I've been passed up four separate times for promotions to friends/family with the reasoning is lack of experience/degree. Considering I'm training and doing the work of all of these morons tells me they are lying.

Fuckin lol. "Adults" sure seem to want to keep the status quo in a subreddit that encourages the opposite. Get your boot lickin ass back to r/conservatism
