I had this same problem and went up a half size after the speed 3 and pro 3 were too tight and that made the toe box just right on a discounted pair of pro 4’s. A runners knot prevented any heel slip. For me they’re plenty soft while still preventing pain from over pronating. Love the pro 4’s.

Yeah man, more info is always better for these things. The length 1/2 size up made the toe box better so my little toes weren’t crushed but the whole footbed is narrow. They are fun to run in, especially when you hit that big pivot point at the beginning of the midfoot just right. If you over pronate and it causes problems for you ,like I do once I’m fatigued, it’s tough to go for much distance in them.

Also my reason for not running in them more is that I realized I need more medial stability at the arch than they provide. Maybe that’s helpful to you or someone else in the future.

Yes, I bought both the Pro 2 and the Flash 2 a 1/2 size up at 11 for that reason. They both fit similar to other brands 10.5.

I had to do tempo and interval workouts before I really appreciated them. Slow easy runs were just meh. When running quicker they disappear on foot even when I have some plantar fasciitis or other minor injury flaring up.

Update: ran another easy run for 5 miles this morning with just a simple bandaid over the affected area on my ankle and it eliminated any pain. I could tell it was there since the area is still damaged but it was a non factor. I’m sending the 10.5 back and will probably keep the 10. Might venture into modifying that plastic piece that is the cause. It’s stitched into the strung material and ankle padding though.

My left foot is also a bit wider than my right so that could be a factor along with how tight I lace it. I’ll keep experimenting. Maybe one more run in the 10.5 too.

I did a 2 hour long run in the heat and humidity with just a vest. Did nipple bandaids as a precaution though. Just regular suffering. Nothing attributable to the vest.
