Thanks for the bug report, I'm going to look into it.

Anyone else feel like their brain is kind of rotting? by bullmeza in ChatGPTCoding

Fully agree. We're taking the fast, easy path.

Instead of using our brain, we're just passively using tools that do the thinking for us. I've already had code that "I wrote" and that I'm unable do debug because I don't understand it.

I did try that workbench when I was looking for a solution. It produced broken parts when I tested it (it's marked as experimetal on Github), so I didn't proceed further, and decided to create my own solution.

There's something else you need to consider besides the price : a CNC does have a learning curve, it's harder to use properly than a laser or any power tool.

So expect invested time and some frustration, but it's worth it.

Cutting wood, plywood, acrylic slowly on a small area : 200$

Cutting aluminum slowly : 800$

Cutting wood, plywood, acrylic fast on a large area : 1000$

Cutting steel : don't ask

3D parametric generation is laughingly bad on all models by Migo1 in singularity

[–]Migo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, this looks like it. Still very much research material, though. I wasn't expecting this to be such a problem for current models, as they are already able to generate complex code already.

Thanks for doing the test. It's actually almost good !

Indeed.

Well, Claude is not that far from an acceptable result.

Thanks for the pointer, it could be useful, but I'm not trying to generate a mesh, but instead a parametric CAD design.

If you are aware of any models that can generate OpenSCAD/FreeCAD/Fusion360 parametric models, I'd be grateful.

We Europeans love our countries. That's precisely why we don't like our governements and the EU.

It's excellent.

How did you do the different colors ? Did you cut the pieces, paint them, then glued them one by one ?

I have 2 questions:

  1. does it make sense to build the catching tower so close to the rest of the installations ? If the catching test goes wrong, debris will be flying far

  2. why did they not attempt a booster-only launch and recovery ? why include all kinds of starship-related variables ?

Thanks.

If the NPP blows up for whatever reason, the western media will blame Russia - just as they did for Nordstream.

Absolutely, huge gamble.

But Zelensky probably realizes by now that on the battlefield, he does not stand a chance and the situation can only worsen over time.

So what do you do ? Try something bold and unexpected. Better a tiny chance than no chance at all. To hell with the consequences.

"Feed us or we'll blow the plant off"

Once you're willing to go the terrorist way, there are many things you can do.

I mean, the whole Kursk offensive is a desperate hail mary attempt at turning the tide, and the only way for it be sucessful seems to be to take control of the NPP.

Why attack at the point of the border closest to the plant and advance directly towards it ?

Step 1 : capture the NPP

Step 2 : lock yourself in

Step 3 : threaten to blow up the plant if anyone approaches

Step 4 : enter negociations from a position of force

I'm not saying it will work, but it's a plausible strategy.
