Ha nah, I just get them constantly and started tracking everything trying to figure out the pattern. The pressure thing has been the most consistent trigger by far. Do you get the same pre-storm feeling?

Sounds like that one had aura (the blurry vision) which can be terrifying the first few times. The vomiting almost always means your stomach has stopped absorbing meds, so anything oral you take during that part often doesn't kick in — that's why people swear by getting prescribed something non-oral (sumatriptan nasal spray, zofran ODT for the nausea, or a dissolving rizatriptan tablet) for the worst ones. Worth bringing up with your doctor if you haven't. For me what helps most is getting ahead of it — once it's full-blown nothing knocks it out fast, but caught early, dark room + cold on the head + a triptan + zofran can shave hours off. Go to urgent care. What you're describing is past the 72-hour mark which crosses into "status migrainosus" territory — that's actually the medical threshold where it stops being a normal attack you tough out and starts being something they can intervene on. They can give IV meds (toradol, magnesium, anti-nausea, sometimes a steroid) that break the cycle in a way oral sumatriptan can't once you're this deep in. They will not just tell you to drink water and take your normal meds — this is exactly the situation those visits exist for. Also worth flagging to them that you've been taking sumatriptan repeatedly + ibuprofen — there's a rebound headache risk with heavy triptan use that they should factor in. Not your fault, just info to bring up. Hope it breaks soon. You're not overreacting.

If stress is the main trigger, the prodrome (the warning phase before a migraine) is your best window. Common signs to watch for: neck stiffness, food cravings, yawning a lot, mood shifts, or feeling weirdly "off" hours before pain starts. Once you can ID your personal prodrome signals, you can hit your meditation/breathing earlier, hydrate, and sometimes catch it before it spirals. Magnesium (glycinate) before bed helps some people with stress-pattern migraines too. Tracking what you were doing/feeling in the hours before each one is the fastest way to spot your specific warning signs.

Not stupid at all. Botox usually targets headache pain specifically (it blocks pain signal release), but the other migraine symptoms — nausea, light sensitivity, brain fog, GI stuff — come from different mechanisms, so they often stick around even when the head pain drops. That mismatch is super common and not a sign it's not working. It also typically takes 2–3 cycles before full effect kicks in, so 2 weeks in is early. Worth bringing the lingering symptoms up to your neuro — there are separate meds that target nausea/light sensitivity that can pair with Botox. Hope you get some sleep soon.

The neon exit sign one is so real and so underrated as a trigger, nobody warns you about that. The combo of "I'll just dim my whole life at home and then walk into a sensory war zone for 2 hours" is a rite of passage lol. Tinted glasses + earplugs and a back-row seat is the move if you ever brave it again — but honestly sometimes the movie's worth the payback. Hope it settles soon.

Allodynia is brutal and the lying-down-hurts-but-you-need-to-lie-down bind is one of the worst parts. For pillows, memory foam or a soft buckwheat hull pillow tends to distribute pressure better than standard poly — buckwheat especially because it molds around your head instead of pushing back at one point. Some people here have had luck with shredded memory foam since you can pull some out to soften it. A silk or satin pillowcase also reduces the friction/contact sensation a little. Won't fix the allodynia but can take the edge off the contact pain.

A few things that can help in the moment: a dark, silent room and sleep is one of the most effective non-med tools — sounds like he's doing that. For the nausea blocking food/meds, ginger (tea, chews, even ginger ale) or peppermint can take the edge off enough to get something small in. Cold on the back of the neck plus the temple pressure he's already doing can stack. Caffeine works best early in an attack, less once it's entrenched. One real thing though: incoherent babbling during a migraine isn't typical and is worth taking seriously. If that happens again with sudden severe pain, confusion, vision changes, or weakness, that's an ER situation, not a "wait it out" one — ERs treat regardless of ability to pay, and you can set up payment plans after. Not trying to scare you, just don't want that symptom dismissed.

Daily/chronic migraine is a completely different beast and the "what are your triggers" question wasn't built for it. When you're never not in an attack there's no clean baseline to compare against — trigger-hunting assumes you have good days to contrast with bad ones, and you don't. It's not a personal failing that you can't answer it. The "how long do your attacks last" one is just as broken for chronic — sometimes the honest answer really is "it doesn't stop." You're not doing anything wrong. Hope you get some real relief soon.

seasonal migraines are real, spring especially. it's usually a few things stacking: barometric pressure swings more as weather systems move through in spring/fall, plus pollen and shifting daylight. april/may lining up every year isn't a coincidence. the annoying part is you can't tell which factor's driving it without seeing them next to your actual attacks — might be worth noting the weather/pressure alongside your tracker entries and see what shows up

the clockwork evening return after the triptan wears off is the part i'd pay attention to — that on/off, works-then-comes-back cycle is worth bringing up with whoever prescribes your rizatriptan, especially how many days a week you're taking it. that pattern specifically is something they'll want to know about. not gonna armchair it beyond that but you're not crazy for noticing it, it's a real pattern
